I am very excited to claim this many page views!  I have been on HP for over a year, and to many, this # may seem somewhat pitiful, smile but it's hard work to become known on any writing site, and I am thrilled that my words have been viewed over 7,000 times!
    I really love this site.

btw you might look at putting some links in your profile page. Take a look at how the 'big' hubbers put links in to their profiles. In my stats the 'profile' page gets the most visits!smile

I'll celebrate with you, lorlie - I crossed that 7000 mark today as well.

Have you looked at the world map on analytics?  You're right that it's neat to think that 7000 people have read my gibberish, and that map shows where they are from.  I've watched as the world turned green (except for Africa) and enjoyed the thought that my hubs are all over the world.  Fun.

Congrats to you too, Wilderness!  I can't remember how many views I had at 4 months, but I may hit 150,000 before tomorrow morning!  You are on a great pace!

Thanks Lorie!  I don't know what is considered doing good here, but I am pleased at the traffic considering the low number of hubs I have published!  Got some new ones in the works, though!

I'd say you're doing pretty okay, with an author score of 100!!! tongue

I am pleased by this too, especially because I also had a 100 score at the same time for a while today!  The money is getting better too on both Adsense and Amazon.  Gotta work on the Amazon sales more, though!

But this is just fun for me, the other stuff is just gravy!

It's incredible to me that I have 7000 readers, but when you guys post those kind of numbers it is just starkly incredible.  I'd say you're doing pretty well, yourself! smile

Randy Godwinposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I suppose so compared with some on here, but I really don't spend any time backlinking at all so I am pleased.  I do need to publish more hubs though!

          1. wilderness profile image90
wildernessposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Much like me, Randy.  The only linking I do is between my hubs and occasionally someone else's, and a few RSS feeds to the sites sunforged provided.  One day as more money comes in I may pay for some backlinking, but for now I'm pleased with my results.  Nearly half my hubs are on googles page 1 or 2; with most of them less than 2 months old that's good enough.

Of course, the other half aren't to be found anywhere at all and the traffic shows it! lol

            1. Randy Godwin profile image61
Randy Godwinposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I really need to use the RSS feeds more, probably!  But all that stuff bores the heck out of me.  Since I write mainly for fun it's hard to get motivated enough to do all of that junk.  I average about 1000 views a day now and look for it to keep climbing in the future.

Why backlink if others are doing it for you?

              1. wilderness profile image90
wildernessposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Well, that's what I figure as well.  I used the feeds in the hopes it would get me indexed faster, and I think it did.  It only took me about 2 hours to build all the links and submit them to everything in such a way that any new hub I write gets shown for a while.

A dual purpose - the setup also lets me provide a RSS on each hub to similar topics I wrote previously, which I think is a good thing.

Perhaps you are right, but getting on page one of google seems to help more than anything!  Especially when you sit in the #1 spot!

No way, really?  So cool, wilderness!  I've never understood what the map was all about, so thanks for the heads up.  It is crazy to imagine folks reading my craziness, too-gotta love it!
      Thanks, Randy-I hope so! smile

      1. wilderness profile image90
wildernessposted 14 years agoin reply to this

That's what it is.  Try clicking to expand the map, then click the US, then a state.  It just keeps expanding clear down to towns.  Funny, though - it has me (the big Idaho reader for my hubs) in the wrong town.  I assume that's where my ISP is.

I also see that California has passed Idaho for readership - I take that to mean that my organic traffic has passed well beyond my HP traffic (me).

Congratulations! I'm about to hit 75k but only because maybe four of my hubs have taken off to over 100 views a day. The rest are lucky to get 20 views a day. sad

Exactly!  I have over 300 hubs, good luck to anyone trying to figure out which ones get the most hits and which ones make the most money because the ones with the most hits don't necessarily have the highest scores or make me the most money.  I can say that every single hub that DOES make me the bulk of my money were NOT hubs written for that purpose.  It just worked out that way.

I like this because it does make it harder for someone to figure out which hubs are the most lucrative!

Congrats Lorlie!  I have always made it a habit to write down the date of each milestone.  I still track each 10,000 pageviews. It's encouraging to go back and look at how much closer each one comes around.  In the next 24 hrs I will pass 370,000 pageviews.

Here we go again, Lorlie - I started a spreadsheet today to keep track of views, income, number of hubs and such monthly.  Figure if I wait too much longer I will have forgotten too much.

Anyway, once it hit 9950 I was reloading every fifteen minutes :-)

It's funny, because as I said in another thread, 10,000 p/v is just a ho-hum, ok but not so great day at my main site, but it is fun to watch things grow here.
