Is it all right to post a newspaper page and link into a permanent hub? I will not be paid but it would draw traffic. how does one embed a link as I suggested into a permanent hub page?
I don't know what you mean by "embedding a page" or "embedding a link" to a "permanent hub".
You could post an excerpt from a news source, you may however trip the duplicate filter depending on how much other original content is on the page. Aside from that linking to where you got the information is a wise choice.
If all you want to do is reprint a newspaper article, and that alone, then there's not much of a point to do so. Seeing that it already exists, there's really no need to create a copy of it.
I wouldn't post a link to a newspaper article, because they only work for a short time.
After a period nominated by the publisher, they become "archive" content, and you normally have to pay to access them.

Some hubs are long and, as result, takes a long time to scroll the page back up to the top. I would like to suggest adding a back to the top link to each page so that you just click on the link and it takes you back up...
