I would just like to share, that I made it to 1000 page impressions yesterday. The revenue was horrible, however, today is going good so far and its less than half way there.
Thank you so much hubpages!
All the new hubbers out there! Success is possible on here... There may be ups and downs, but you can always ensure success if you stay consistent and focus!
Okay, if you could sum it down to a few tips and tricks, what would they be? Just curious, being a newbie here myself
Well, I noticed when I write about something brand new and popular I get large amounts of traffic. However, be careful, if your writing about high competition stuff, then you may not do as well.
In my experience, when I write about something that's new/popular, BUT is low competition, you can expect to get a lot of traffic. This is assuming you have the right keywords within that niche or category.
I also get some traffic from more timeless hubs, but they do not get loads of traffic. They may pick up more later on though...
To sum it all up from what I did:
1) Send about 5-8 backlinks to on most hubs, not all
2) Use the right keywords for tags and title(some hubs fared better)
3) Write on a new popular subject
4) Consistently write over 7 hubs a week.
5) Have one main niche and two sub niches, the rest is misc....
Honestly, unless you know how to get ranked high in the search engines, avoid high competition. If you know how to get ranked high, by all means try.
That's mainly what I did. You need to keep writing hubs constantly and experiment a little sometimes.
I am by no means an expert. This is merely a milestone, and I have yet to reach true goals...
Best of luck to you
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try to keep them in mind.
No problem, the most important thing is to keep at it. Think of it as a hobby/business
Hmmm I'd be careful writing about new popular subjects that don't last.
Evergreen is best.
Yeah, this is my fear lol. Well I can not say they are not timeless at all, however, the fact is, I must write heavily in future endeavors in 2011 to continue.( can not write on certain topics till next year)
I have evergreen topics, hot topics, and ones in between...
My evergreen topics make traffic, but there not as good as I want them to be.
I am not sure if some of those topics will ever hit 50+ views a day or not.
First of all, congrats! I've been with the site for a few years now and all I can say is be persistent! Don't give up! Keep writing hubs and eventually you'll make one that will become super popular! It happens!
No I think he meant 1000 impressions yesterday. Either he got 1000 visitors, or his adsense impressions hit 1000. Either way, it is impressive - well done David!
I hit 1000+ page impressions in adsense, and over 1200+ in hub statistics.(to clarify)
10,000 is actually the point where your making about part time income to full time income online. Everyone will make different residual income at that point, however, in order to make part-time to full time income you needed 1000s of views a day.
My goal is to make 1000s of views a day. Ever see the hubpages success stories, keep in mind this does not reflect everyone.

Congratulations! I just passed that marker myself about two weeks ago. I'm sure the revenue will catch up soon.

This month my CPM for the HP Ad Program is super low. It's been under $1.50 every day so far. And last month I had a lot of days where it was under $2. Wondering why that is and if it's just happening to me or if others are experiencing this as well.

I just checked my earnings panel, and I was quite surprised to see that my earnings from yesterday were 2 cents. They have been in the range of 20 cents to about 75 cents a day. Yesterday was actually a fairly high traffic day for me, and that doesn't make sense. Any idea why it would be that low,...

I am a new Hubber. Should I write about topics that genuinely have an impact on me although they may not be that popular? Or is it better to research and find topics that are currently trending or in demand in order to get traffic to my articles?

Yesterday, I crossed 400,000 page views mark, the last one was about 10 months back. This happened in spite of limited interaction on HubPages during this period. Thanks to all my Fellow Hubbers who keep me motivated. But there is one recent observation. Starting first week of January there is...

In the few years that I have been on this site, I have heard that you can increase traffic by picking short titles. I have also read that you can get traffic by choosing a long title and including many search phrases in your title, and also by picking long titles that are specific for a...

How long does it take for a hub to be viewed 1000,000 times?I published a hub yesterday. Using google analytics, this hub is getting an average view every two minutes. If it continues doing so, it will probably reach 1000,0000 visits in two and a half years or so...
