Amazon is so strange with updates - it can vary in a 2-4 hour window, depending on time of month/week. And then the other day I swear it updated twice in one day. Weird.
I have been waiting over 24 hours for that window! Not the first time tho, had to wait almost 3 days once! Just have to be patient I guess Could be orders there that will be shipped by the time we see them
I've just come back online to check too, lol The stats normally update at around 2.30 pm my time, but they haven't yet. Anyhow, I'm sure they will be good.....
I hope you're right, Bill!! I've been checking every few minutes - they've been so good at updating early lately so this is very frustrating. I sold 41 items on friday, so I'm hoping for more of the same - I hope tomorrow (Cyber Monday) is even better!
Yes, I do believe 41 is a record for me. I don't recall what my record was, I think something in the 20's. This, by far, is a record Amazon month for me with 277 items sold so far.
Yes it is possible. I think the number is so big because I had a couple people stop by my hub and then order extra stuff for the holidays. Also I sold a lot of small ticket items. But the more you sell the better the percentage.
"Cyber Monday" is the online shopping version of "Black Friday". Black Friday is said to be the busiest shopping day of the year for retailers; Cyber Monday is supposedly the biggest online shopping day - many online retailers run Cyber Monday deals...
I was wondering why nothing had been posted to the discussion boards yet - thanks for the update, Nelle....and thanks for cracking the whip to keep us in line
Yep, if you want to be as happy with Mother's Day as you are with Christmas right now, you've got to get going. Always good to be ATLEAST six months ahead.
I'm afraid I am a stats junkie. With several dozen sponsors you'd think I would just check them once a day. But no, it's more like every half hour all day!
Just thought I'd mention that my Amazon stats have now updated. I've sold 37 items this month, which isn't huge compared with some of you but it's a record for me!
OMG! This is so much fun! I sold 33 items yesterday! That's a new record for me. I need to include Amazon capsules on more hubs - I only have products on a few of mine.
I know......I shouldn't complain, because I've had a good month...possibly my best to date. I just had high hopes. *sigh* Maybe we'll kill it tomorrow, huh?
How'd you do yesterday, Wendy? 30 items sold for me - not too shabby. Too bad it's so close to the end of the month or I might be looking at a record 7.5%...
I had to go out so I have been daydreaming about my stats all evening (saddo)
But I can now confirm it was me that broke Amazon because I shipped a 42" TV, Kinnect, and 2 Nintendo DSi's in one day ..... off to gaze some more at those figures.
Anyone been around for a Christmas before? Is December better than November for sales usually? I figured sales would tail off by around Dec 15th as people worry about getting deliveries in time.
Yes, but I was only here a few months this time last year. I sold about $10 more in December than November but I don't think looking at my stats are typical. My gut tells me that December will be good, but not better than November - it just feels like people are shopping earlier than normal this year...I could be wrong, though, and I hope I am!
I sold less than I expected to yesterday as well. However there are still about 20 items that have not yet been shipped.. So maybe they will go out today.. along with any other sales! Hooray for Cyber Monday!
I love this - I get so excited everyday! With a bit of luck I might make it to $1000 this month with amazon and adsense combined. I'm at just over $900, so we'll see what ships by tomorrow.
you must let us know if you do susana - soooo exciting. I have seen so many tv reports today about all the internet shopping that will happen today so my fingers are tightly crossed.
I sold one more item yesterday. But a load of stuff shipped out, bumping my commission rate up to 6.5% for the first time ever. If I had - say - 200 straight "sales" hubs instead of the 50 or so I've got at present, I'd probably be ecstatic right now as opposed to just pleased
I have to say this is the first time since childhood that I've actually enjoyed the run-up to Christmas!
Me too! This is great fun - this last few weeks I have been living JUST for the Amazon update each day (well, almost!) This time last year I had NO sales hubs so naturally never sold anything, but it was fun seeing everyone else get so excited in the forums. Yesterday I sold 20 items which is a personal best, and have more than 40 items waiting to ship. I hop they don't ship before Wednesday as it'll give me a nice start to December
I received a payment email yesterday which was Sunday. I thought that was odd. The updating is horrible with Amazon. I try not to check it everyday because it drives me nuts!
Well that is just brilliant news Relache That means that all the sales we have been seeing over the past few days/weeks are going to continue for a couple of weeks more? Fingers crossed...
Well here we go again. I really want to see what I sold for yesterday, cybermonday. But so far no update. If it was a big day they might be really late in updating today. I'll be checking often!
Tell me about it! Had 5 laptop related sales on sunday that pushed me on to the next % tier as well . I am getting all excited to write product hubs again and since my excitement last year resulted in selling hubs it is all starting to feel serious in a great way
It's actually more like 5 hours from now. Maddening, isn't it? I know it's the busy season, but they've been having this problem for most of the year. You'd think a company that size could keep on top of things!
oh thanks - i got a bit muddled with my time differences there. I'll be back online in a few hours then. The other day it took ages to update I'd sold a TV so by my reckoning if its taking twice as long I must've sold 2 TVs
Well that is good actually. Means they had a crushing load of sales so it's going to take them a while. Boy will I be disappointed if I only had two sales!
you are a cruel cruel man. How much longer? I still didn;t get my head around the time difference. I have 200 items outstanding to ship and the wait is killing me.
I actually have no idea how much longer. An hour to 3 or so, who knows? Even Amazon may not know for sure. Maybe you should wait and check in the morning, lol!
Wd Spacey, 200 waiting to ship is an awesome achievement. I want it to update right now too so I can stop logging in every 5 mins to check my earnings lol
According to the Associates Announcement page reports will be ready at 3pm pacific time, which is 6pm eastern standard time. Don't know about australia and london. But about 3 more hours.
It's great to see so many of you doing so well. Now really just write hubs while you wait and the time will fly.
All this talk of Amazon reminded me to look at my .co.uk affiliate page, and I made my first sale!!! OK commission only 35p but it's a start! (Thanks Suzannah for telling me how to insert my link).
You do know it's retroactive, right? The 7.5% will apply to all of November, excluding the commission-limited items like laptops and other electronics.
Does that mean that items I sold during the first of the month at 4% will now add on the extra % over the course of the month? I thought when you get an extra % boost it only applies to items you sell after that?
Yes, it goes back to the 1st of the month and updates everything to whatever level you ultimately reach by the last day. Excluding electronics and laptops and whatever else is limited.
It was worth the wait - I sold 51 items yesterday, a huge record for me. My previous record was 41 items just a few days ago on Black Friday! I made it to 7.5% for the first time ever! There are still 64 items that have not shipped, but Honestly I hope that not too much shipped out today because it'll give me a good jump on December totals!
I hope Relache is right about Dec 6th and 13th being bigger online shopping days than yesterday because that would be pretty incredible to beat the $1700 I sold yesterday!!
That is really amazing! Great work - you are beyond freelance writing and going into small business territory if you ask me! And all this without the hassle of employees and fixed time constraints... love the internet...
I just checked mine, I usually check every other day. I reached what I am targeting, so I am now 7 percent. I hope the next .5 percent will come sooner! I know I can learn more and earn more as well. It is just exciting to know that I can also sell.
Can anyone tell me what accounts for the discrepancy between ordered items and shopped - is that only made up of items still waiting to be shipped? Or is it downloads? Or returns?
Normally by the Tuesday report I have cleared the backlog of items ordered over the weekend but not shipped, but today I have more items still to go out than yesterday. Bit confused.
I'm not complaining about it since I'm sure at the end of December the orders will slow down but the items will continuw to ship out so it will all even up. I just didn't want to get too excited about the items still to go out and then find out that I was mistaken.
And congratulations on your good month Bill- maybe on tomorrow's report you'll find out you sold something really expensive on your higher commission rate
You actually bring up a good point. Although it's unlikely, Amazon COULD play a bit with deliveries to minimize commission tier levels of their associates. I googled but did not find anyone analyzing this in a way worth linking to.
Amazon earnings are updated for yesterday and I had my best day!! Seen over $800 of items ordered, once these ship it will take me into the 6.5% category. Probably small fish to some of you but it will help me break my Amazon earning record set last month.
I've seen a lot of hubs on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and I've done several myself. I actually had it flagged because it was categorized wrong. I think that brings up the issue that we don't have a specific hubtopic for holiday shopping deals or Black Friday, etc...I tried putting the hub under...
There is a significant traffic increase for Hubpages - a 38% increase in one day! Was there an algorithm update? I happened black Friday - Squidoo did not see an increase.....http://www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com
anyone ever camp out to get the great deals on Black Friday?is it really worth it?do you wait til cyber Monday and hope to snag a deal?which is the best way to go fr a good price/ what was your greatest buy?
With the 3am mark past and adsense rolled to a new day, I can celebrate my first 100 dollar day using only hub sourcesYesterday and today i enjoyed my highest amazon sales ever at almost 1500 in sales to amazon and almost reached 100 yesterday also.I still have 7 days to maybe see even more results...
