Hubpages is going to offer a new revenue sharing program for hubbers from 3rd March. But is it true that the program would be open only for a few elite hubbers fir the first 3 months before its made accessible for everyone in June?

It would be nice if this were offered to all hubbers, here over a year and actively writing!

They will do, what he is saying is that it won't be fully live until June. Therefore, it will be opened up to the community in June. I don't see any reason why I or anybody else would get access prior to June, seeing as they already have their test group. I suspect that if Beta stage is successful they will throw open the doors and we can all make some money smile

I guess I can wait until June.  I have to, huh?

Where did you get that information? If you have good reason to state so then maybe, otherwise who knows?

The only article that I read has stated that it has already been trialed and said nothing about 3 months of exclusivity.

Ultimately though, does it matter? They are likely to need to test it in order to provide the stats neccessary for a new ad sales team. How do you sell something until it is proven to work?

Well Ryan I am not saying its open only for 3 months. I said that it would be open only for few top hubbers for the first few months before its made accessible to all in June.

Yes, I get that, but where have you read this? You must have read it somewhere? If so, link please?

You got it sid, now share the link (its in one of the other forums) .. it says they tested (are testing) the program with a group of invited hubbers and will be rolling out sitewide at a certain date

I hardly see whats worth commenting on..

plus if the 60% increase is at hubber to hubber level id be impressed - if its based on the sitewide norm - I wouldnt even be able to buy milk smile

              Your welcome.

To add to the topic...I think this may be a good ideal to start. HP can test this program to see how it works, work out the kinks, etc. It would be such a huge task to add site-wide. I would guess this is why it will be until June for a site-wide implementation.

I suspect that advertisers only commit to a trial period too, they aren't going to throw a huge ad budget at us if they don't see the results for themselves smile

Sid, if you are perhaps suggesting 'favouritism', and I'm not suggesting that you are but simple covering a few bases, I suspect that they would pick hubbers from a wide range of different topic areas and traffic rates in order to gauge a feel for how we will all benefit in general smile

In fact, those who agree to a trial are brave, seeing as it could have sent their earnings in the opposite direction wink

I am assuming your reply was meant for the OP with the term "Favoritism".
You make a good point about the possible bad effect of the program also.

Ryan, I never meant that keeping the program open for few top hubbers for the first three moths indicates 'favoritism'. Hubpages is a great site with some great hubbers like yourself, Mark Knowles, Susana S and many more. I was just wanting to make things clear before the ad program rolls out in the next2 days time.

Hi Sid, I wasn't necessarily assuming that you were, just covering that ground just in case smile

I suspect that me or you won't be joining until June, unless they phase in new members bit by bit. But, I am happy waiting a few months for that!

Or should I say...This is where the information is. He may have read it or just heard about it from other Hubbers in the Forums.

Oh Ok, yeah same article that I read, I have had a few vodka and cranberries at the pub with friends so skim read smile

Well, it looks like the question is answered then doesn't it? Is it true? Probably, yes.

That's what happens, things get tested, those that are priviledged are sworn to secrecy and are happy to stay ssshhh because they are benefitting, simples smile

June isn't too long to wait, and if my earnings increased by half of the figures stated (30%) I would be a VERY happy man... as this would go someway towards bridging the gap in my recent hit.

I read the article they posted on Facebook, they already had it tested and their testers made about 50% revenue. However, on March 3rd they will open the program to a few chosen hubbers, then June it will be open for everyone of us.

I suppose that nobody knows but those involved, but three months isn't long to wait for a potential 60% increase in earnings smile

(By the way, I am not one of them, just in case you wondered)
