I have seen that hubpages has several actress hubs which are nothing but a collection of sleazy pics. I don't think these are of any utility to hubpages. I have flagged a few but there are thousands of them still. I believe these should be removed immediately.
You are at least 2 years too late...No that these comments did much good 2 years ago...
Closer to three years too late....
No matter how vehemently the community has complained about these Hubs, admin seems most unwilling to remove this style of content.
Well, I certainly hope you're talking, specifically about certain hubs.
I personally have many Celebrity hubs, which might qualify "Actress" Hubs, however, my hubs have a lot more content on them than just pictures.
I would suggest instituting a words count minimum for those specific type of hubs. Most of mine are at least 400 words or more.
Hi Ray,
Your Hubs are good and they don't qualify for the sleazy stuff category. Your hubs deserve top stay at hubpages.
You might have a buttload of copyright violations though...
I don't think all of Hubpages problems can be fixed retroactively. Four years of Indian aunties, 1 paragraph hubs, wholesale copyright violation of photos, etc... can't really be fixed without massive manpower. Either Hubpages will be able to weather the algorithm changes or it won't. It is really kinda late to do anything about it.
I agree completely sid_candid ,nothing but garbage with no value to a site that's touted as a community of writers.
I flagged 3 by the same person, they were filled with sleasy, x-rated comments.
I completely agree, if my opinion counts for anything... lol
Would it not be easier for the moderators to reject them right at the just published stage? you know a wild horse is easier to control before he's left the stable.
Logical even.
I don't think they would do it from jump. I saw a few of Bollywood Actress' which had risque photos, soft porn type pics and there were a couple of other hubs with regular girls who were not celebrities and the hubber put something like, "Isn't my aunt a hottie! See more picks below." One was of the sister, another of the cousin. I don't know if they were trying to advertise mail order brides or what! That was a definite flag.
Cags I have seen your hubs and they are legit. They have beautiful photos and are informative so there should not be any comparison at all when it comes to your hubs.
I have done hubs with lots of photos about American Idol but I add alot of info as well.
I guess none of you were here for the oversaturation of Indian Aunties back in the day.
Yes they definately did not have my permission!
Hey Tony, I was here before Hubpages did away with a lot of them.
@Julie, Thank you kindly. Much appreciated.
@Tony, you are such a nut!
@Cagsil, no sweat man!
I love the idea of a minimum word count -- for ALL hubs.
For goodness sake. This is a WRITERS' SITE. We are supposed to be WRITING here.
If you can't pull together at least 300 words (arbitrarily chosen #) it's not a hub. It's spam.
For the record: I have nothing against beautiful actresses or hot Indian aunties. There's a time and place for those. HP ain't it.
LOL, I thought you were writing in German, so I hit the translate button. It failed to translate, but then a second later it says:
Did you mean to say "MM you know writing is my life!" ?
I haven't felt this stupid for a long time.
Tony -- I'm not sure whether to say "Thank you" or "How dare you!" Ha ha ha ha
I am in favor of a minimum word count, but I think they need to put all of the poetry hubs elsewhere. I like the idea of the poetry outlet, but I am not sure that those monetize well and be warrant a segregation to a more poet-friendly area.
Hey Mutiny, I have a few hubs that are poetry that make clicks and have word counts over 500 words.
Nice to see you again.
C'mon now...leave the poetry be. As you said, poetry doesn't earn much, which means it's not getting picked up much in the search engines, either. In other words, poetry isn't even close to the problem here on HP.
and while we are at it, I recommend removing FOREX hubs and the big influx of insurance hubs. Most of them appear to be shallow and seem to serve the purpose of giving someone's blog a backlink.
I am sure there are exceptions...but good grief already!
Celebrities are a legitimate category to write about, and there are plenty of people out there interested in celebrities. They tend to earn lesss than others per thousand visitors, but they also tend to get more traffic.
All low quality hubs should probably be removed from Hubpages, there is no reason to limit this to celebrities.

In a thread a few days ago, a discussion began about accounts which have been here quite some time and have a lot of published hubs that are noticeably breaking Hubpages ToS. Despite the accounts being flagged repeatedly, the accounts and most of their hubs still remain. The staff answer to the...

I was hub hopping and had to flag a few hubs for being substandard (word count). One hub had exactly 10 words and 2 photos. There should be a way the system prevents you from publishing a hub like that except if it's in the poetry section.

This forum is a place for you to post hubs that you think are clearly of low quality and need flagging. Committed hubbers should follow this forum and check these hubs posted for quality when they have the time. If a hub has been clearly copied (for example from a PDF file that the plagiarism...

So .... I was just flagged for a hub I wrote last night. It was flagged as a duplicate.I didn't even cite anything in this hub. I quoted a bunch of stuff in my Anaconda piece and none of it was flagged as duplicate, so someone must have copied and pasted my new hub. Everything on...

Hi,My name is Terry, and I established my first hub about 24 hours ago. I'm very much into Affiliate sales programs and I wanted to share reviews and such of products I'd bought and use to help people decide where the best programs can be found and what tools to use to maximize your...

Why are some hubs flagged for substandard articles, and other hubs that are Plainly substandard andare not flagged? Ive seen articles with two paragraphs, or pictures only with one sentence, these articles have not been flagged for correction, so Id like to know what the real criteria is for...
