This system of hubber scoring is really disgusting. Hubbers posting hubs are assigned low hubber score for several reasons but hubbers without publishing a single hub are participating in forums and have hubber scores of >80. Is it enough to post a adult photograph in profile to get assigned a high hubber score?
What's your problem man? Go get a bottle of beer and cool off, before calling names and such...
I don't have any problem. I did not mention name of any hubber in particular. I was trying to make a point that there are some problems with hubber score itself. It appears it has been taken as personal by a hubber and as a reaction has made some abusive comments on my hub in Indian language with pseudo name. I can do it but I will not react in such an uncivilized way
I highly doubt that "adult photographs" in profile pics have a direct effect on HubScore.
Well of course they do,a provocative photo will lead more people to click on a hub page, even if they then decide the content is worthless.
More clicks/views leads to a higher score, I am sure of this,...even in my limited expereince here.
But as a fan of provocative photos, I would not complain.
crusador, am just curious to know how long did it take for your research?!
Is it my imagination or are the forums full of wingers and complainers these days? At least crusador has some hubs. I've encountered another guy today on the forums disenchanted with his earnings after 67 minutes and zero hubs written!
It's not fair! (I'm off now. I'm going to find an adult photo for my profile)
One of the hubber had a hubber score of 81till yesterday. Today the same hubber published first hub (picture gallery of ... sexy girls) and hubber score is down to 77. You people don;t take it as a complaint. There should be some logic behind hub and hubber score. If a hubber can achieve a hubber score of 81 without publishing a single hub and just posting absurd things in forum then how this system of scoring will serve some purpose.

A score that is unsuitable for myself may be fair or unfair. I think there are some who provide more interesting reading than others. I suppose one could use the score as a kind of score card to keep the focus on what it is one is trying to do. I don't write for score or money. I write about what I am interested in and hope that others might get some use or enjoyment from it. For some, writing can be a struggle and it shows. It's painful to read something written by one in such throes of anguish.
You have great passion and that may be the thing that propels your effort. You must have a great deal to say and perhaps you believe you have found a vehicle to express it. Certainly, there are multitudes out there who, when frustrated give up and resort to less constructive ways to bring attention to themselves. Of course this doesn't work very well and usually leads to lifelong frustration. I hope you take the harder, but more meaningful route in the long run. If you work hard at it and endure the frustration and low pay, you may have the satisfaction of creating magic, and the occasional expression of gratitude from someone who liked your story.
There's a hubber(poet?!) who always spends time in religion forum here. He has some published hubs, but his score(author score) mostly falls around 60.
So, simply posting in forums won't seem to help. Hubber score is calculated on basis of several factors.
eh don't worry about it. the hubber score doesn't really mean anything except for other hubbers. it doesn't affect your traffic or anything. I don't worry about it; just worry about your own hubs and your own score and keep to yourself.
I know your secret Witney - You need a dog in your profile. Will a squirrel work? Once I catch one and photograph it in my arms, I too will get a score of 100!
Yeh Whitney is much prettier than me but if I find a really lovely squirrel it might beat the dog ...
As far as ican tell hubber score is all about traffic - thats why sometimes it drops when you only have a few hubs and publish a new one - the average traffic/hub goes down for a while. New hubs of wet Indian ladies seem to get lots of traffic - that's why the score is relatively high - the both hub and personal score are irrelevant to what really matters - search engine traffic - go get some links!
Hi Lissie - traffic, yes, but content more so, or at least equally so, I think. Hubs with >1500 words of original content and maybe a picture or two seem to hold their score in the mid 70s even when the traffic is low (as happens with non-commercial topics like philosophy!) Hubber score inevitably fluctuates more in the first few weeks than later, when the writer has a body of work to lean on. I have also noticed that the hubber score tends to drop slowly during periods of inactivity, which seems perfectly reasonable too.
The Algorithms for determining scores on hub pages always keep on updating.
The best thing to do is to Publish Hubs without thinking of scores. I some times find that even my low scored hubs get 500 visitors DAILY directly from Google and Yahoo and other sources.
So my advice is ..........not to get disgusssssstttttttteeedddd about Scores. This type of Feelings arises when people get Lazy......Crusador you have published only 24 hubs within 9 months and you got Hub score of 92. It is great. Then why worry about it.
Even i am facing lot of problems from fellow Hubbers daily, but i never give up. I keep on changing My Style of Hubbing
Hey, that's nice - I've just crossed 25,000 page views total. I know it's not a lot compared to some, but as one who writes for interest and never researches keywords, promotes or bookmarks, it's quite a nice number!
Thanks Webismine & Shinujohn, and sorry, I seem to have wandered off topic
What I find disgusting here is that someone trying to change the whole system....Thread Starter should stop worrying about others hubber score and spend time on hubbing
Don't know if the original topic is still relevant but Crusador, if you find the HubPAges system so disgusting, you don't have to use it.
You are perfectly free to start up your own version of hubpages, implement whatever rules you want, and attract people to come and use it.
Good Luck.
Don't waste your energy on trying to understand what the hubscore means or doesn't mean. Just keep writing! Eventually you won't have time to worry about your hubscore.

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

I wish there was a way to turn it off. It goes up and down without reason, and it can be very distressing.

I've been here a little over a month. My hubber score as I write this is 85, the highest ever for me as far as I know. Cool I guess, but I have no idea why. I haven't posted a new hub in over a week. I've seen my individual hub scores fluctuate wildly, from a score in the...

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...
