I was trying to comment on a hub but it won't accept my comment.  I refreshed the hub but my comment did not show up.  I went to Hubtivity and there is no record that I placed the comment.  One thing I noticed is that when this happens (this is not the first time), the comment box is half of its usual width.

    The hub in question is:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Best-Affili … ing-Course

    Does anyone have similar problems?

Yes, it happens to me quite often.  I know as soon as I see that half-width comment box that there's no point wasting my time.

    Hi wandererh, Marisa,

Which type of browser are you using?

I went to the hub that you mentioned and the comment box came up fine for me.  Also, have you tried holding the shift key when  you hit the refresh button on your browser?

    Thanks,

    -Larry

I tried Crazy Browser and IE, same problem.  Holding the shift key while refreshing did not help.

I tried Safari and the comment box came up fine.  Thanks!

Happens to me when I use an older version of IE, and the Hub in question has a video.  (Most of the time I use the current version of Firefox, and have never had that problem with it.)

I used IE 7 but I'm still getting the problem.  Anyway, I might try using Safari more - it looks nicer.  smile

I had the problem when I was using IE and I still get it now I'm using Firefox.

Okay, so it's any version of IE.

As for Firefox, don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm still running Windows XP.

    Have you tried Firefox?

(Maybe I've just been lucky so far.)

Just downloaded Firefox 3.0.3 and no, the problem does not happen with Firefox.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks very much for the information about the browsers.  I was able to reproduce the problem on the hub with IE 7.

I'll see what's up and post here when the problem is fixed.

Right now, HubPages only supports Firefox and IE.  So any other browser won't necessarily work as well.

OK, I figured out the issue on this one.  This will be fixed with the next update to the web site.

In the mean time, this problem only occurs with certain hubs and will only occur with IE.  The work around until it gets fixed is to use Firefox.

    Hi Everyone,

The comment issue with IE should now be fixed.  We pushed out the fix over the weekend.

Sorry Larry, but I tried to comment a few times on a hub from Gamergirl and it doesn't work, but it only happens with her hub today. Others I'm able to comment.

    Hi Lazur,

Thanks for the heads up.  Yes, I confirmed that the issue is not fixed in all cases for IE.  I'll see what's up in this case.

Hubs with videos are definite culprits.

      Hi Marissa,

On which hub are you having the problem?  I'll take a look.

I couldn't comment on my own Hub (to reply to someone), and I also tried a few other Hubs.  But it seems to be working again now!
