  Maybe you should just ROFL (roll on the floor laughing)instead and keep all your body parts, or exercise a little more control over yourself and just LOL. That way you wont cause offense to anyone. Unless you rolf or lol inappropriately that is.
  
  There was a story on Facebook about a mother who, when telling her daughter that her nan had died, finished off the message with a LOL. She thought it meant lots of love.

Personally, I prefer to spell it out with proper emphasis and diction: "Whisky. Tango. FOXTROT?!"

It is also "Wednesday, Thursday, Friday" (which explains a lot) or, "Well, THAT'S Fabulous."

how did this thread get so creepy? I used to the LOL meant lots of love and used it several times very inappropriately - a good friend let me know my error before I really messed up. I don't like these "shorthand" text things - I hate them, actually. But I find these very useful and cute. When people talk to me I have a hard enough time understanding them, without having to stop and think what the letters stand for in LMFAO and ROFL and LOL and WTF - so be warned, it makes me grouchy! (altho, of all of them, I most like WTF, it is so accurate sometimes!)

  Many people use multiple ip-addresses here, and come into a single forum post to manipulate a good discussion.
  
  Plus- HubPages does not have 'clearly' defined rules as to what behaviors are acceptable within its forums, and what not. Even if you 'think' someone's post is 'bad', it's not that moderators will also find it bad. That's the problem.
  
  It makes these forums a junkyard.

  Actually, multiple IP's are reserved for hard-core trolls and sock puppets. Most people with multiple accounts don't bother (because they aren't being MASSIVE pains in the butt)
  
  With that said, there are many different ways to figure out if two accounts are the same without IP addresses.

  Suggestion:
  
  Start your own site so you can have complete control. Otherwise be happy that HP has done all the work and all we have to do is participate in their program and earn $$$$.
  
  The forums have no ads and produce nothing for HP. Although Google search does like the forum conversations. It is a privilege which I appreciate and enjoy.
  
  Thank you HP for providing such a wonderful platform for us all.

  If you believe that to be true hit the report button. Using more then one persona in the forums is a major TOS violation. If you are correct HP will take the necessary actions.
  
  This website was not created just for you. We all must follow the rules, if you believe any of our members are in violation, report them.
  
  Creating thread after thread is not productive and if anything works against whatever point you are trying to make.
  
  IMO you have much more experience here then seven weeks. So you know that the sockpuppet discussion has been covered before. If not type sockpuppet in the search bar and spend the day reading the hundreds of threads on the subject.

  Apparently, PhenomWriter was using an identity, possibly under his own name(at the time) and was rudely insulted by one sock puppet. He then proceeded to open yet another thread to complain about sock puppets. In reality, that didn't work well for him, because the sock puppet opened a thread about him. Both I think were closed to reply. I know for sure one of those two threads was. I tried to post my last post to that thread and closed to reply was where the reply button was.
  
  And, now he is mad. I figure that his other account was banned, which is why he is using this account.
  
  Thus, the sock puppet adventure leads us to where we're at now.
