I have a blog and the Search, Archives and Categories links keep returning the full list of blog posts, it is using the Twenty Ten Search.php, Archive.php templates so I don't know what the problem is... I think it maybe a bad query or the fact I am using pretty permilinks
Let me guess your wordpress shows full posts instead of excerpts? If this is the problem then you need to edit those template files to add the_exceprt() tag into it.
