How in the world did you know this?  I see the copied one is "no longer published".  What makes people think they can do this?

It showed up while i was hub hopping. The formatting made me think it was a copy paste job...and so it was smile

how weird is that?  not only that the creepo stole it, but the chances that you would happen on it?  and know what to do -  btw  how do you go about finding out if a hub you're reading was copied and where it came from in HP?

I do not understand why the user profile is still active. Surely such an event should mean an instant permanent ban?!

Wow, you're a sharp one, UW!  I agree with WriteAngled.  It should be an instant permanent ban.  What an eejit!

Good job. That's one of the great things here at Hubpages. The real community members watching over each other. Way to go.

I have tried to publish three hubs, which have been left unpublished due to duplicate content, even though I don't have them published elsewhere.  I googled the titles and content, but have drawn a blank.  One of the hubs, I wrote especially for hubpages, so can't understand how it can be duplicate content.

I am glad that you found this out. I'm going to follow this forum. Maybe then I can spot it myself and help out too. I'm interesting in seeing if I would be able to tell. I think it's awful trying to do that. I think the person that did it did not realize, similar to what Bruzzbuzz typed, that the majority of people here are serious about their writing and it's good to know that we are here to help each other out.

I don't understand why this happened in the first place.  I got a "duplicate" notice on one of my own hubs, and could not publish the second one.  I had unpublished a hub about 2 weeks ago, planning to repackage the info in smaller chunks.  I wrote the team, and got it cleared very quickly, but still, I could not initially publish the second hub.

I don't understand how this happened either.  I got a "duplicate" notice within 24 hours on one of my Hubs.

Me neither.  I have been transferring hubs from one of my other accounts to this wordscribe one.  I will delete the hub from the other profile, wait until it's totally gone.  Then, I will go to Webmaster tools and expedite the Google cache removal (if you don't know about that tool, it's awesome).  I'll wait a few hours until Google removes it.  Then after all of this, I will attempt to publish it on this account... but guess what?  I get a duplicate warning!  Huh?  Weird... but it always goes away after about 12 hours.  So, I have no idea how the filters aren't catching these kinds of hubber-to-hubber thief doozers.
