My hubs seem to have taken off suddenly and I can't think it's anything I've done. What is happening? Has yours done the same?

I'm glad to hear this from you. Your Hubs are stellar in every way, including that they have a global appeal. That global appeal may account for your hubs taking off...no one knows the ins and outs, pluses and minuses of how Google channels traffic. As rmcrayne said, it has nothing to do with HP forum participation. I think you just write good stuff that is appealing to a very, very wide audience.

Thanks for your replies. I thought it might be something that HubPages had done to the site. (Thanks for your kind words also!)

Mine has seen a big jump in viewings over the last 6 weeks or so. I've no idea why the sudden improvement, but I'm really pleased. Glad your hubs are doing well too!

Thanks Amanda, pleased to hear from you again, and pleased that you're hubs are doing well too.

Yes I just noticed today my traffic has gone up in the past few weeks as well. I've done nothing different so it must be a tweak of some kind...

Which traffic? Your Google (organic search engine) traffic or your hubpages traffic?

My traffic was more than it had been last year until recently, but since then it's doubled - some days tripled. I'm not complaining though. It might be because I'm posting in the forums again.

Unlikely, Google and other SEs could care less about forum participation.

Forum posts generate internal links to your profile page. How significant they are I wouldn't care to guess.

Will is correct, but it's pedantic.  Hubpages give you thousands of links through the way that they've set up the site and they keep renewing them so they are new to Google.  Even if you are very busy on the forums you are unlikely to create more than 50 new internal links per day.  It's not enough to treble your traffic.  If that were the case, we'd all be better off talking crap in the politics and religion forums and not bother writing any more!  ;-)

My traffic is decent for a weekend, when it generally slows down. It's up from last weekend's stats.

My traffic has slumped in recent weeks and I'm trying to get it back again!  :-)

My traffic's been terrible the past few days, I hope it gets better! I'm currently editing a new one that will hopefully give a boost smile

My traffic has been much better this year, but that's down to my being ill last year and only publishing two indifferent hubs. This year I've already published five and have a good few more in preparation.

      Still not earning much sad

Yes, it has been nice to see the jump in views and money earned. Even though I have not been on here in a couple of days.
