I have, hypothetically well over 7,000 views so far. My own views number in the hundreds. My pay only accounts for about half of the views. Where is the other half of the views going?
Hubpages ad program pays based on impressions, which are similar to views but not quite the same. Impressions are the number of times ads show up on your page, so you will never have more impressions then views. However, part of the hubpages ad program is that you get 60% of the impressions while Hubpages retains 40%, thats why your pay only shows up for half of the views, that number is probably about 60% of your impressions. i hope this was helpful!
