When I tried to put Google Analytics on my hubs through the affiliates page I was given a HTML code to post into each page. I could not find any facility on my pages to let me do this.
Am I just getting it wrong? I would like to analyse my traffic properly but I just can't figure out how it works.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Visit My Account > Earnings > Settings

Under the Earnings section of My Account, visit the Settings tab.

Scroll down to the Reporting Settings box and click the "get started" button next to Google Analytics.

Follow the instructions given over there.

Hi thanks for answering. That doesn't solve the problem though. I am already registered with Google Analytics. The thing is, what do I do with the HTML code? When I was analysing my own website I could post the code into my website builder. HubPages is different though. What do I do with the code? Perhaps I dont need it. That is what I want to find out about.

You ignore the code, you can't add it in HubPages and you don't need to.

You don't require the entire HTML code (script given to copy-paste).

You will see a Tracking ID- it should look something like UA-123456-01 inside the script, copy that Tracking ID and paste the same into the text box... (Account > Earnings > Settings)

That really confused me, too. It's not really stated in the guide, so I had to Google it. All you need to do is put in the tracking ID in the earnings page and just ignore the html code. HubPages takes care of that part for you.

Thanks for all the helpful answers folks.
When I checked it a while ago my HubPages was on Google Analytics. I must have done something right yesterday. So far there is no data. I will watch it for a few days and see what is happening. There may be something that needs correcting. It keeps giving me some kind of error message.

    "Fingers crossed".

For Google Analytics to work, apparently we have to insert the tracking code for each and every hub for them to be tracked.  Correct?

I don't really think that is necessary. At least I hope not. I wouldn't be worth the hassle. I have just linked it to my profile page. Mind you, it is doing absolutely nothing. It's very frustrating. There must be something wrong in the way it is set up. Why do these things have to be so dammed complicated?

we dont insert the tracking code for each hub! It is enough to insert it once!

        Hi CASE1WORKER,

If that is the case, how come when I check Google Analytics only a handful of my hubs show up out of the hundreds that I have written?
