Is it right for ads from Adsense to be on display on hubs of a person with disabled Adsense account? It somehow hurts to see those ads, knowing you cannot earn from them anymore. Or is the community benefiting somehow from them?

Hubpages own 40& of the impressions and (I think) will display adsense on the other 60% if you have no adsense account.

So I guess the community is indirectly benefiting with hubpages less likely to go bust. big_smile

Tunde, I saw in another forum where you stated that you lost your Adsense account, you can choose to turn off ads in your account by adjusting your settings. In edit mode on the right, under the recipe capsules there are a bunch of links of which "settings" is one of them. Just go there and adjust your ad settings to none if you don't want ads running on your hubs.

HubPages earns from the ads even if you don't.  But I wonder, why stay on HubPages if you don't have an Adsense account?  You can't earn from Adsense and you can't earn from the HP Ads program (including eBay).  So the only thing you might earn from are Amazon ads, and they are not easy to earn money from.  In other words, you're wasting your time.

It would be better to look for a site which does not require Adsense.

I have a couple of friends who lost their Adsense account who still stay because they love to write. They are short story writers. I haven't looked at Tunde's hubs so not sure what sort of topics he writes on though.

If I were unable to earn money but was willing to write for free, I'd probably go to a writers' site which specializes in fiction writing, like storywrite.com

I think most of the people stay because of the relationship they have built here. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else either but I am just biased...lol

I can understand that - I'm still here on the forums even though I rarely write new Hubs any more!  I was thinking more of the OP, who has only 11 Hubs here anyway.

Thanks for the advice, if you know of any such site I will like to know. Note also that I do not have a paypal account. Cardisa I do not write short stories for now.

sorry, If the hub is republished I will let you know. But the major reason I gave for the banning is trying simultaneously to get an adsense account through my blog and through docstoc another 3rd party that uses adsense.

Tunde, you are not allowed to place links to your hubs in the forums either.

oh my! what was I thinking, I thought I was only helping, it wasn't for any promotion.

Next time just refer to the hub rather than place the link. Even though you did not do it for self promotion, the moderators wont know what you are thinking. So as a rule they don't allow it unless they specifically ask you to do that.

As promised, RASO, the hub that told my side of why I got banned from Google AdSense has been republished, you can search for How to Get Banned From Google Adsense in No-Time and Moving on, or you can just look at my profile by clicking on my name. Thanks for the support.

It seems to me that if your hubs are stilling showing, your account may be on a time out, under review, or banned from the forums only, but it is not banned per se. From what I have seen of an account is fully banned so the user cannot sign in to their account or edit their hubs, all their hubs are deleted.

If you want to turn off ads, you'd also have to remove the retail capsules, as those link to commercial sites.

Thanks for the support. Cardisa and relache, I may like to keep them. The ads somewhat add to the aesthetics of the hub. me think.

You can earn from sites that share content without the need of an adsense account, like Squidoo(not sure). You also have other sites that you can still ear money by using SEO knowledge. You can still be very successful online, Adsense, ebay, Amazon are just a few of the ways.

    Good luck to you pal.
