...and some still succeed the old fashion way...through hard work. Of course success is in the eye of the beholder as well. What is success other than achieving ones own goals? (Of course most score success based on finances and level of employment)

Raise them to be tough & ruthless & they will go far. Raising them to be kind will only put them at a disadvantage from school to work. It is the kind children who are bullied, not the ruthless & selfish ones. Remember that.
From who will they learn to be kind? In a way children have to be taught both by their parents: tough & ruthless and kindness.
Kind & unselfish people aren't respected, especially at work. People do view them as fools. It's best to be ruthless & selfish if one wishes to be successful at work. It is THE SURVIVAL of the smartest at work.
