    Yes!  Profoundly YES!  I can track life altering decisions to specific childhood events dating back to when I was five years old and younger.  I will try to be more forthcoming when I start posting hubs.  I joined hp (not hewlett packard haha) a couple of years ago, but did nothing with it.  I joined in response to childhood experiences affecting my adulthood.  Good question, LialaK.  I hope you get some meaningful responses.

    Very much so.  I am definitely, as an adult, a product of my childhood. I have overcome many aspects that I dislike - but much of the fear, and timidity I feel can be traced back to childhood trauma and loss.

    My mum carried her won demons from her own childhood as her children we were in the frontline of her pain. It is hard to see in yourself how your childhood shaped you, but I can see in my brothers, in one the carefree nature of the youngest and in the other the lifelong simmering of frontline pain...
