What were your favorite subjects in school?
I loved Biology, and organic chemistry, but ended up studying Computer Science.
I loved history, geography and literature, mostly because I'm geek and love to read, and thus love to write.
It saddens me a little when people tend to look at me as if I've grown second head when I say I love history - I mean, if you do not history, how can you take precaution from repeating its mistakes?
English and History were my favorites. I also enjoyed Biology.
My love of history started early on in life. I lived in an old Victorian home, and was surrounded by 100 years of family history. It always mesmerized me. It still does today. I have a friend who is 101...she is my walking history book.
Hello LaThing,
I am sorry to say that I never really enjoyed any subjects in school. Even at a young age I always wanted to find the true purpose of life and the questions that I was trying to answer were not addresses at school at all. For me school was boring because all I was ever asked to do is learn things by heart and repeat them. We were rarely given the chance to discuss about the future, about emotions, friendship, love or how to be a good person. I am glad that I learned how to read and write, and maths, I guess, is quite important, too (note: I am being a bit ironic here). Nowadays I will only study subjects that enrich the quality of my own life and of the lives of the people around me.
Your 'Team Leader'
Math is my favorite subject. I do not like subjects where I had to memorize facts, so it was a bit difficult to study other subjects like history or science. Whenever I had to memorize equations or theorems in Math, I do not seem to have the same problem because I can understand the logic behind each one and retain it more easily.
I loved anything to do with art and science. I'm a left brain, right brain kind of guy. That's why I do technical stuff as well as artistic stuff, such as woodcarving and scroll sawing. I was happy in my job because I was a technical writer and the last 10 years, I developed online training courses. You have to follow your bliss in order to be happy at what you do...in my humble opinion.
I really enjoyed law and law enforcement and studied it in college. I do enjoy the hard sciences and contemplated changing careers last year.
history and philosphy. History mostly as philosophy was only avaliable as a choice in your last year of school so guess i had history a lot longer.

Students in North Carolina schools have, for a long time, been all required to take courses each year in the following subjects: Math, History, and English. In light of the belt-tightening that many school districts are coping with, other programs are being done away with (such as art...

What can I do to teach my child (a boy) to stop hating school and learning?Too much damage is already done by the system itself - and even though I consider myself lucky with the school he attends and the teachers (it's an excellent team), but the system in general is created for girls. Not...
