    Hey, Much-Appreciated Followers,
Of the two, count them, two actors that played "Floyd," the barber on the Andy Griffith Show, which one was your favorite?
    A. Walter Baldwin, the older of the two with gray hair that was seen once on the show
    B. Howard McNear, the one who stayed with the show until the bitter end.
    Your choice.
    Let's see who wins!

I only ever saw Howard McNear, so I'll vote for him. Thanks for telling me about the other actor!

        Patty,
Thanks for your vote. Now we have early results:
        McNear -1; Baldwin - 0, and Pink - 1?

I prefer the dark-haired Floyd, only because he's the only one I've ever seen on the show. His voice fit the role, as did his appearance. He just seemed like a small town barber to me.

Interestingly enough, there's a place called Floyd's Barber Shop in Orlando. They have a billboard underneath the store name where they post cute little ditties. For a while, it was "Hairway to Heaven". I thought that was quite clever.

        Thank you kindly, bravewarrior,
I too liked Howard McNear/dark haired Floyd and for the reasons
that you list. He and Andy were also close friends. Thus when he,
McNear had a stroke that paralyzed his left side, Andy insisted that
he be kept on the show and a special brace (that is never seen) be
built so he could rest that left arm on it while in scenes.
I would love to see that billboard and I love that slogan, "Hairway to Heaven."

LOL! Sure. Pink Floyd. I should have known. I love "Money," by PF, but the real "Floyd," rest his soul, would not know what we are talking about.
          Or would he? Bahahahahah.

Dean Kenneth:  Boy, what a question! I guess it can be answered only by young squirts who watch reruns. I remember a "Floyd the Barber" but not that much about him, so technically, I can't vote. However, I'll answer just to let you know that I read your question. Have a wonderful day, my dear friend.
