My favorite has to be Dirty Dancing! I love dancing movies they put me in a good mood. Loved the romantic twist.
I have sooo many favourite movies its hard to pick just one... but if I'm honest its 'A Walk to Remember' I love it!
I can't pick just one as a favourite, so..
one of my faves is Casablanca
Sorry Pards but for me its the Duke John Wayne in Stagecoach. That movie represents perseverance, superb acting with a star studded cast, and one of the best directors in the business John Ford. Star Wars couldn't hold a lightsaber to this movie THIS still is a CLASSIC
Yeah, I agree that it is hard to choose just one favorite movie. Plus, at least for me, it can change based on my mood or experiences at the time. I will say I'm a huge fan of Steel Magnolias because of the amazing cast, but also loved The Departed, (haha, slightly different genre).
I loved Leaving Las Vegas. I think that it said so much about the human condition. Too bad Nicolas Cage hasn't had a good film since.
Godfather 1 & 2.....Unless anyone here can "Make me another offer I can't refuse"......
Also, for pure movie making mastery try "Citizen Cane" there's no big action scenes or shoot em' up type stuff but you will see some of Hollywood's best acting, dialogue, script & lighting, with superb cutting edge camera angles, .....
It's a simple low key drama yet magnificent in it's own special way. It seems very plain the first time you see it but I learned to really appreciate the genius after watching a second & third time. It really grows on you.
Step up 3D
These are the best movies of now a days and my favorite too.
Odds Bodkins! So many to choose from...just throw in my top faves:
The Time machine (1960)
War of the Worlds (Gene Barry, not Tom Cruise)
The Black Hole
I really could keep going, but I'll spare everyone from maddness.
My favorite movie of all time would have to be American Beauty.
I have too many favorite movies. One that I love though is Mike Leigh's Naked.

For me, it's always a toss-up between...1. Blues Brothers 20002. Caddyshack 23. Anything with Julia Roberts in itNotice how Dan Aykroyd made the list twice. The guy can ruin almost any film he's in. Has he ever been in a movie with Julia?

What is your favorite movie based on a book?Personally, I love "The Road" based on Cormac McCarthy's novel. I didn't think it could be pulled off on the silver screen, but once you cast Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) as the protagonist, you pretty much can't go wrong...
