What's more important? Image or talent?

It seems like the music artists today focus more on their image than their music. For me I believe someone with musical talent should be appreciated more than the female pop star singer with little clothing. Do you believe a music artist's image (like Justin Bieber's or Lady Gaga's) is more important, or do you believe artists should be noticed more for their ability to produce beautiful, authentic music?

i'd like to say talent but if you look at todays stars it seems image is everything. lady gaga is a prime example of this, so is bieber, katie parry etc.

It depends on what those music stars seek. If your goal is popularity, fame, money etc. then to have a unique image of oneself is neccesary. Talent nowadays doesn't give you much popularity, since people are eager to see sexy bodies or stars getting involved in various scandals instead of quality music. So for most music stars extravagant appearance or contravercial behaviour is the only way to get known by the masses.

Sex sells! So the record industry uses it to the fullest! Even if you have absolutely no talent, they can create that for you in the studio with the newest electronics. You just need to have "the look."

Well,I would like to say Talent-But I think we all learn over time that people judge what they see "Image" . Kind of sad to think you do not have to be smart, wise or talented to get noticed--as long as your attractive and have an eye-catching image..but if you look around you--some of the most unattractive people and things  around you 'nature' are more talented and beautiful then the eyes can see--I say its all in the Heart and mind..EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL and have some kind of talent--some can just display it better than others..

The music industry today looks more at the recording artist sex appeal or image rather
    than their vocal talents.

The only recording artists that survive
the long haul in the music industry are
the recording artist with the vocal talent.
Those are vocal recording artists that don't have to take their clothes off to sing.

I think Talent gets you noticed. Image gets you remembered. Especially when sex-flavored!

I'd go with talent - but most people go with the image - either because they like bad people, or they like pop-singers that start a trend.

Good music always sells, so its talent.

People in Hollywood right now are focusing more on image then actually putting quality music out there for their fans. Personally, i think its more about the talent, because after all isnt that what gets you fans?

As much as the media focus more on image than on the talent of the artist, who gets the time and will be remembered after years is his talent.

Talent first over image, if you have the look and no talent no good, if you have no image but with talent, you are in..

Talent is more important because that is the basics for any performance.  Image can change but if talent is prevalent, that would insure that the artist have longevity and a multitude of fans.

Of course it should be focused on talent. But if female artists display them self with little clothing, it will get more money. It's almost like selling music through prostitution sometimes. There's a artist called Ronald Jenkees. He is talented, and I believe that it there should be more focus on people like them, because music is supposed to  be focused on music, and not lingerie.
