Do you prefer to go to the movie theater to watch movies or would you rather watch movies at home?
I would like to go to the theater for the movies, once in a while. The last movie I saw in the theater was "The Day After Tomorrow" when it came out.. I have not turned on my television since January of 2010 and I have stacks of unopened DVD's at home..
I haven't been to a movie theatre in nearly 10 years! I much prefer to watch movies at home, where I can pause and rewind if I need to.
I go to the movies when I want to see a movie that I feel should be seen on the big screen. Some movies are best on the big screen, like Pixar and action movies. Otherwise I prefer to watch the at home. For my family it is a 60 dollar minimum to go so it has to be worth the price. When you can get thousands of movies streaming on (for example) Netflix it is hard to justify the expense. I do miss the excitement of going to the movies when I was a kid before streaming. Good question.
This is a good question to make a hub about but I already wrote one along these lines.
I love going to the movie theatre. For older movies I have a service on my internet. I have acess to thousands of older movies.
Watch them from home. I don't like to go out when I can do something here, obviously I'm in introvert. Plus you can always get aggrivated at someone when visiting the theater. Texting, loud voices, irritating people, etc. I'd rather skip all of that. Also, think of the price difference! That right there is a great reason.
At home. I'm not into paying an arm and a leg for entry and snacks to sit behind some moron who can't keep their pie hole shut or a crying infant. At home my hubby and I can be free to enjoy our viewing the way we want.
Hands down--at home. Without sounding like a complete Crabby Patty, there are too many people who chat or make other noises during the movie, and for some crazy reason, these folks always seem to be sitting in front of me, beside me, or just in back of me. My husband would like to go out to a movie sometime, though, so maybe we can swing a matinee. It is fun to watch a horror movie with a big audience though. We all scream at the same time, then laugh afterwards!
If it's a movie I really want to see and don't want to wait for the dvd, we will go to the theatre. But most of the time we watch at home. With a big screen TV and HD and BlueRay, it's just like being in a theatre and sometimes better.
I do like to watch a comedy in a theatre and be in the crowd with most everyone else laughing too.
I prefer watching them from home. You can just sit on your couch in your pyjamas and relax. And it is also cheaper.
I like going to the movie theater whenever I can, but there are admittedly a lot more advantages to seeing a movie at home, most notably the use of a pause button.

Is it more fun to watch movies at the theater, or at home with a huge tub of popcorn?
