What is your favorite musical film?

My favorite musical film is Seven brides for seven brothers (1954).   There are many famous musical fims such as Chicago (2002), Evita (1996), Singin' in the Rain (1952), Moulin Rouge! (2001), Grease (1978), Mamma Mia! (2008), etc.

All That Jazz.  A musical about producing Broadway musicals.  The final dream sequence as Joe slips into death is one of the few musical film segments that actually make sense.  It's a dream.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks.(1971) is my all time favorite. I am a child at heart, but I also loved Chicago, Grease, Singin' tn the Rain. I love the stories, the music just adds to make it that much more enjoyable.

I love Enchanted.  It's obviously not a classic (yet, anyway), but I just love it.

I enjoyed Sweeney Todd, though Tim Burton left out some of the major themes from the source material. Still It was a bloody good one.

Out of all of the musicals I have ever seen, II would have to say that my very favorite is The Sound of Music.  That is a movie I have seen a number of times, and I loved it each time I watched it.

I am not a huge fan of musical films, my vote goes for "Mary Poppins" and "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"

"Thoroughly Modern Millie" would have to be my favorite!  I also love "Newsies".  There are so many wonderful musicals out there that it is really hard to choose a favorite though! :-P

Singing in the Rain, but the Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney is a close second. Good old fashion patriotic music.

You just can't have one favourite musical film that's horribly unfair and far too difficult to choose. My favourites include, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Mama Mia, Yankee Doodle Dandy, The Blues Brothers, Hello Dolly, Viva Las Vegas and of course White Christmas,
