Should strip teasing be considered a form of dancing?

Strip tease has become an industry that allows women to make great money by just DANCING. Yes, dancing.

Just tripped over this thread, better late than never.

Serious answer - I've seen both.  A proper striptease is a form of dancing, because properly done it should be a cheeky, seductive dance where the woman just happens to take her clothes off.  That kind of strip works even if she doesn't end up nude.

However most stripteases these days seem to be some broad striking poses with a bored look on her face, getting her kit off fairly quickly then sticking her a$$ and boobs out.  That's not dancing.

Why not?  Politicians do a lot more of the "dirty stuff" than strippers do.  The strippers don't effffff you unless you ask them nicely.  Actually, I think that Amsterdam is on the right track because I'm a Libertarian and I think that any adult over 18 should be allowed to dance any old way they want as long as no children are involved and as long as they aren't hurting anyone.

I can't think of any way they could hurt anyone unless they throw knives while dancing.

Strip-tease is not legit dancing...unless it's belly dancing (but then they don't strip do they? Let me know if there are any that do...)

I've done a couple on the subject too.  One of them on striptease as a way to introduce fun into your relationship and the other one on striptease as a form of cardiovascular excersise to keep you fit.  In fact it was me who requested opening this category under performing arts smile

The only places I think you will see traditional striptease is at a burlesque show, and yes that is dancing. Strippers at clubs? Not so much. Athletic at times but not "dancing".

  10. profile image0
    Iðunnposted 8 years ago

just to say, on the dance part, it might be variable.  I would personally call it an art.  it's creative expression and less in the 'sex' category than people would assume.

but if it's about clubs, it's irrelevant and dancers don't give two shits whether some outsider (non-clubee) thinks it's an art or no and insiders (women there and men who go there) would never feel compelled to dis the job. dancing in and of itself has almost nothing to do with the profession, really.

it's kind of creepy seeing my old avatar from DA coming in from an austin IP in here dissing dancers, btw.  thanks a lot.  I also caught that bit in the movie review hoping I die of lung cancer... on my end can only say I hope you are holding your breath waiting.  wink

  13. Chaotic Chica profile image79
    Chaotic Chicaposted 8 years ago

The original striptease was an art form in itself but, like a lot of art forms today, the respect for the traditional discipline is gone and what is left is both disrespectful and distasteful.  There is no tease, no dance, just a bunch of women who have the wrong idea about what they're doing coming out in next to nothing and quickly dispersing of that while jiggling around demanding money.  The money is supposed to be earned, for those who chose to do this for money.  It is supposed to be a dance of seduction.

yeah, from the 6'5 80 pounds stripper with two different sized feet that opinion is so meaningful.

Wow.  I don't get offended easily but your "quit stalking me" rant was a little harsh, especially considering I didn't know you existed until today.  And you called me the 'nutjob'.  Well seeing as you have plenty of followers, I don't suppose you'll miss the lack of support from me but I can assure you that you have been a beautiful example of how one person can ruin the fun for everyone else.  This is a public forum, after all, and I thought I had the right to comment here. Please forgive me for my apparent ignorance.
        Yours truly,

    ruining what fun?

you in mulitple aliases bashing women you are jealous of?

I think you might be the only person finding fun in that.

try a diet.  and some therapy.

    1. Chaotic Chica profile image79
Chaotic Chicaposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Let's see.  The fun is the ability to interact with all kinds of people and get to see how other points of view can shed new lights on things.

I have no other aliases and you are the only person I've "bashed" to date, I didn't even know you were a woman.

I do not need a diet, I am comfortable with who I am, and I have no reason to be jealous of anyone, I have a great life and I'm very blessed to have it.  My point is that there are some people who take these forums, and the people in them, way too seriously.

I do not appreciate being 'bashed' for no valid reason, that was all I was trying to say.

Iðunnposted 8 years agoin reply to this

I don't even post in the forums, really, and you know that.  You wanted to lure me here for interaction.

I ignore most of your crap.

But ok, you got me here.  Are you happy?  Did it make your day that the great and powerful SpabSFW responded to one of your multiple stabs at me?

You didn't really win.  I'm not mad.  And you can malign pretty girls you are jealous of in here to your heart's content now.  I just wanted others who are being stalked to know they aren't alone.

Shout outs to others going through this.  You have my condolences.  I see you guys out there confused and scared and creeped out.  My heart is with you.

Okay, honestly, you have me confused with somebody else but I don't think you are going to understand that so I'll bid you adieu and hope that you get the therapy you think I need.  I am so sorry that I fed your psychotic delusions and you can be sure I will NEVER have any interactions with you ever again.  I am who I say I am, I have no reason to lie.
