I always enjoyed Porky Pig and Sylvester. And when I was really young, Tom Terrific. (Boy does THAT date me!). Hmm, now who's the dog on Rocky and His Friends who does the deadpan explanations of science and  history? Wow, with so many great moments in animation, how can anyone choose just one?

Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman.    You're welcome.

btw, Tom Terrific had a wonder dog named Manfred.  I think it was one of the only cartoons that was more or less just moving sketch drawings, as I recall (haven't see it since I used to watch it on Captain Kangaroo), as opposed to character body parts filled and shaded, like most cartoons.

    It's a three-way tie:
    Optimus Prime, Lion-O, and Superman!

Many of you know that I am a bit bias in this regard, as I have written a 7 part Hub series on his amazing life based upon a series of interviews I was fortunate enough to have with him before his passing.

That being said, without a doubt, my vote goes to Mr. Elmer J. Fudd

I agree with a lot of the choices.

Bugs Bunny is probably the first one that comes to mind. I also like Daffy duck, porky pig, Foghorn Leghorn and Slyvester the cat.

    Other oldies but goodies:

    Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble
    George Jetson and Astro
    Scooby doo and Shaggy.
    Underdog
    Rocky and Bullwinkle
    Tom and Jerry
Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck

    Out of the newer stuff:

    Beavis and Butthead
The Simpsons: Mostly homer and Bart
Family Guy: Peter, Stewie and Brian the dog
American Dad: Stan, Steve, and Roger
South Park: Everyone but Kenny (OMG! They killed Kenny!)
Cleveland show: Cleveland, Junior and Rolo

There was also shows called Jabber Jaws, and Hong kong Fuey.
Those where great cartoons. I even had a Jabber Jaw lunchbox.
But, I had a Scooby Doo lunchbox around the same time.

Eeyore from Disney's Winnie the Pooh canon - despite having his house destroyed by weather, Tigger's bouncing, or other things, he always rebuilds it. That makes him worthy of someone, despite being merely a cartoon, who never gives up.
