        I agee!

And here's a bit of historical perspective:
Warner Brothers developed Bugs and friends as the antithesis to Disney's squeeky-clean, goodie-two-shoes characters that started with Mickey Mouse.

        Counterbalances can be very good.

Peanuts...with a tie for Snoopy/ Charlie Brown at number one spot. Snoopy is the day-to-day hero of the comic strip...but what would the animated cartoons be without Charlie Brown!?

I'd have to go with Bugs Bunny but Mickey Mouse and friends should be in there.  Homer is probably the best for modern day cartoons.  I was very fond of Scooby Doo myself.  Not so much Scrappy though.  Hated Scrappy, actually.  So did my kids.  I didn't have to deal with Scrappy as a kid.

My kids have no idea what "Saturday Morning Cartoons" was about either.  It used to be that basically cartoons ran from 7am - 11am Central and that was about it.  Although, Bullwinkle was on Sunday.

Oh, Bullwinkle is a great cartoon character too.  So many good classic cartoon characters.  Way too many modern ones.  Sponge Bob now comes to mind.

    Too much coffee today.

My two most favourites are MICKEY MOUSE AND DONALD DUCK, sorry I think they are just as good as each other. Walt Disney was a very special creator of cartoons and all his cartoon characters are exceptional in their own right, afterall he was our creator of cartoons. He will never be forgotten will he? from BB

Snoopy is the #1 cartoon character in my mind.  From the World War I flying ace to Joe Cool, Snoopy is unmatched for charm and sweetness.

Second choice is a tie:  Hobbes from Calvin in Hobbes for his childlike wisdom, and Doonesbury's Uncle Duke--the most twisted character in comics history.
