I'm doing some research on a specific songwriter/producer who has written/co-written many Top 40 hits for top performers. Out of these 5 songs, which one is your favorite? These were/are hugely successful songs. [I realize some people don't like Top 40 songs, so you don't have to answer. ] simply give me the name, thanks.

My fave is Since U Been Gone...by a long shot.
thanks for replying. I forgot about this thread! I've since written a hub about the songwriter behind these hits.
I also love Since U Been Gone, the music is very much Max Martin influenced.
I added some links in the comment section of the hub that should work for all.
Don't like this kind of Pop but must admit Britney's tune was very good
get ready for her new single produced by Martin and Dr. Luke.
it will be released 1-11-11. Hold It Against Me. it's supposed to have some nice bass lines. I'm looking forward to hearing it. I love .. One More Time, it's simply classic pop princess/Martin magic.
thanks for your reply shinkicker.
out of that group my fav is katy perry's i kissed a girl. the otehrs are ok but i love love love katy perry's music
I think out of these 5, my favorite is Since U Been Gone. I love the music and her vocals.
I've always thought the Katy Perry song was novel because of the topic. Not your typical love and loss theme. It's also catchy.
But I do like the singing on Since U Been Gone. Agree there.
yes, it's very catchy and that helped shoot it to the top of the charts. there had been a song with the same title by Jill Sobule in 1995. Perry said she came up with the title in a dream, but Sobule states that the same guy who had signed her also signed Perry.. hmm. regardless, the song is a huge hit.
I love this song! at my son's wedding reception, the dance floor went crazy when this song played. it's a perfect club song. another thing about these songs, they have those catchy lyrics that pop into your head anywhere.
hi rebekahElle, I am not sure if this info. is any use to you but all but one of the videos come up as blocked for UK viewing on youtube. It does not matter, just thought it might be useful for you to know if this question is a bit of research for something.
oh, sorry, probably because these are official videos.. I didn't think of that when I posted them.
thanks for letting me know..
I kissed a girl because it is a original song and the music video is sensual but not too much like madonna's erotica.
Since u been gone by kelly Clarkson, I like her music the best
I can't pick a favorite, but I can pick one to say no to. #5 - because I haven't heard it so I can't possibly like it. Of course, I can't dislike it either, but if I can't like it then it can't be a favorite, can it?
(my flashplayer doesn't work & I apparently don't know how to properly download it...so I can't watch/listen to the video)
thanks Erin. Britney's back.
camlo, it has that europop sound, I love it. thanks.
You gotta love Kelly Clarkson! She's a Texas gal who grew up less than 100 miles from me. I took my daughter and two of her friends to see her about 5 years ago. Kelly put on an awesome concert. I got to hear her sing this song live!
that would be a great concert! it must have been great to see her perform in her home state.
the story behind the song is interesting. remember she was an American Idol winner. Max Martin and his collaborator, Dr. Luke wrote and produced the song. Clive Davis, the chief creative officer of Sony Music wanted to give the song to Clarkson. At first they were not crazy about the pick because they believed they had written a bit hit which needed a top artist, but Davis convinced them that she, being a recent Idol winner, could give it all the passion it needed. they went along with her; it has that huge, explosive chorus, and bam! it's been her biggest hit.
Britney fans, did you hear it yet? I love it!

turn it up!
exciting. the Itunes official version of Hold It Against Me is amazing. much much better than the link. it's already hit #1 on Itunes in many countries.
I Want It That Way- Backstreet Boys ... One of the prettiest songs ever. The song they'll be best remembered for, i think.
oh thanks, this thread pops up now and again. The hub has been published. I love this song also, it's rated #10 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Pop Songs. I never get tired of hearing these songs.

I'm curious to what people are listening to at the moment. I'm addicted to Lady gaga - born his way and Enrique Iglesias - Tonight (not his style at all). I've been playing those on repeat
