It keeps changing as I listen to more and more music. For example, when I was a kid, my favorite song was "Rabbit of Seville"
"The Stone" by Dave Matthews Band. Beautiful, complex and haunting.

not the best ive ever heard because theres too many number 1s. but how bout the high road by broken bells. starts out kinda strange but it is a truly beautiful song
2PAC - KEEP YA HEAD UP
The Roto Rooter song, "and away goes trouble down the drain..."
OK it's maybe not the best song in the world ever, but the new single by boyband JLS is fantastic. It's called "The Club is Alive" and you can hear it here:

Almost impossible to have ONE song, but I love "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits (or The Killers).
I have many but right now what comes to mind is You'll be Blessed, by Elton John. Makes me cry.
The people I'm with gave the gut-reactions of "Love Shack" by B52's, "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, "Kiss by a Rose" by Seal, and "Something by the Beatles" which I found hilarious.
Enya, "Caribbean Blue"
...that's a hard question...there are many ...'old dead white guy music'; lots of R&R; R&B, etc...

One of my all-time favorites is K.D. Lang's version of the Roy Orbison classic "Cryin'". She has such an incredibly powerful voice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEVF9xiS … re=related
Another powerful voice is Adam Lambert. This is one of my favorites of his called "Whataya Want From Me?".
Its hard to say what is the best song, but one of my favorites is: Fields of Gold by Sting. I think that the imagery that it brings is beautiful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCNJBopK25I
I don't know if there truly ever was one. I DO think that there are moments in life when you hear a specific song and for that specific moment that song--if so perfect for the moment--seems like the best song ever.
Christian music would be
I Can Only Imagine
This song speaks of what heaven will be like.
"Surrounded by your glory will I dance for you Jesus, or in awe of you be still? I can only imagine"
Secular music would be
Honey by Bobby Goldsboro from the golden olden days of the 60 s
Classical would be
Ava Maria. The 3 tenors do a beautiful rendition! (Placido Domingo, Jose Carrieres,(m sp?) and Luciano Pavorotti)
I Can Only Imagine is one of the best song I have ever heard! Even just listening to the music is soothing. I have the Soundtrack and will listen to the instrumental only part over and over again. The same with the song of Mercy me---"Word of God Speak!"
Thanx for all the sweet replies some of the songs are really awsome
Some of the best songs to me, seem to have awesome appeal when I have been in a relationship with a woman, and these seem to be some of their favorites as well. (Ye Olde Romantic Numbers)

Phil Collins - Groovy Kind Of Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsC_SARy … re=channel
"At Last" originally written by Mack Gordon & Harry Warren in 1941.
The song was originally recorded by Glen Miller's Orchestra in 1942, and then again by Nat King Cole in 1957.
However the best and most recognizable version of the song and the one I recommend, is a variation performed & recorded by Etta James in 1960.
So many here is a few;
Joy Division Love will tear us apart
Beatles A day in the life
Stones - Satisfaction
TV on the Radio - Wolf Like me
Hunters and Collectors - The Slab
I have rather eclectic taste, so...

Let it Be, by The Beatles
Imagine by John Lennon
Both give a sort of hope when feeling a little lost
Ok my favorite Song is "Wished on a star" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers I can't find a copy anywhere but my 2nd favorite is Metallica "Blackened"
I'd have to pick "Hey Jude" from the Beatles as one of the best songs ever. My picks change monthly.
"Foolish Games" by jewel. Because I used to practice it while cleaning my barn as my comrade, friesian horse, Ben looked on. in the untimeliness of his death....I sat there for 3 hours and sang it over and over and over again until he passed quietly. I still sing that song and cry every time....kind of like right now.
went over and watched Donavan - rocks -
I have a few songs that I could just listen to all day long and never get tired of them.
But if I had to choose just one favorite, it'd have to be this:
Chevelle's "The Clincher" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot0EwlgiRWo
Hmmm..achy breaky heart? LOL
Looking for love in all the wrong places!
"And So This Is Christmas" by John Lennon is right up there
"Everybody Hurts" REM
"Amazing Grace" -- the anthem of recovery
"Ave Maria" -- have never once heard it that I didn't cry
WOW ! Only one song ? I may have to submit a couple. I love the song " Angel " by Jimi Hendrix easily one of the most beautiful guitar pieces ever.
I also love " If I ever lose my faith in you " by Sting
And " Out of the Blue " by Roxy Music , easily one of the most underrated great bands of all time !

I think River Deep Mountain High sung by Tina Turner must be about my favourite song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULw1RHHP … re=related
I like it so much, I even did my own karaoke version for fun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4r87cdG82o
Best song ever? Like trying to remember the best strip of bacon I ever ate. Lots of good songs but "Amazing Grace" happens to be one of my favs. Like it w/ bagpipes. Met a guy who claimed to have seen Elvis playing it in the clouds. Good enuff for the KING, good enuff for me. Written by a former master of a slave trader.

I've corresponded and chatted with a number of Americans who think the 9/11 Truth movement has been thoroughly "debunked." But when pressed for details on the source of their belief, they can't provide any. One gentleman said that he didn't have time to investigate such things. My big...
