recently Mel Gibson stated that the comments he has made about race is not who he is.  He's said that inside he is a different person and that people shouldn't think of him as being racist.

If it was just 1 instance and he apologized for it, then that would make sense.  The thing is he's been saying those kinds of things over a period of a few years off and on.

    Is he sincere?

Is Mel Gibson being judged too harshly?

Does he deserve being looked at so negatively?    hmm

So i use to love mel gibson i still do. I personally think somewhere down the road he's  went to a deep end too much stress, in a life of a star and personal life. I think soemthing struck a cord and this  is the out come of it . He needs to just go away fro a while relax get himself to gether maybe ... then he might have a chance at his  now  crappy star life. Its sad when stars hit the point like he has, but in the quaestion of him not to be judged and  for him being a racist i say the follwing. : Mel your in the star light, you will never ever be from judgement until the day you die, an the only one then who will judge you is god. As for a rasict. i think in a way we are all get mad at one certain group or another for what reason im not sure of , But its how the world seems to be centuries of  ppl not liking certian cultures and colors hasnt changed has it, though we are all free , ppl still are haters. So mel just shut the mouth when you feel the urge to say a nasty thing..  i wish him the best of luck

He actually does have a movie coming out.  Something about a talking beaver or something.  It looks stupid, but kids might like it.

actually by talking about what he said it makes it worse then what he said. People are so eaisly offended thats the biggest crime to humanity and could led to our downfall.

It's pretty easy to get offended when someone says  "those F****** jews and other things like that.  Any decent person would be offended.  I don't see how talking about someone's bad behavior is worse that spouting racist crap.

If someone is so off and on with their comments and makes them one year, not the next, and then again at a later time...it's kind of a habitual thing that is more than likely a part of their personality.
That's what it seems to be with Mel to me. He's a habitual offender of hate speech that I'm not a fan of.
Can he be forgiven? I suppose. I'd still watch his movies if they had a decent plot or looked good, but there hasn't been anything lately of his I've been interested in.
Him as a person? I'm not a fan.

no a weak minded person would be offended. easy once the racist remark is said its done. When people spread around the fact it was said it has a life of its own(sort of speak) and makes it worse

It doesn't matter if he's "not a racist inside", but he surely as heck is one on the outside.

I don't, when you are really upset or under the enthusiast of something you can say some crazy stuff that you don't mean. So perhaps he is sincere - or just crazy...
