Oh boy, this is a trick one, there are so many great films from foreign lands. One of my favorites is "Amelie", it is so surreal, beautiful, and funny. I hope this answers your question, it is a good one big_smile

Life is Beautiful was excellent. Pan's Labyrinth was another favorite. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.  Kung Fu Hustle. So many good ones it's hard to choose a favorite.

I live in Canada, so as American films are technically 'foreign', I would have to go with the Godfsther

Basically anything from Ingmar Bergman, and particularly Wild Strawberries and Persona. Fellini's 8 1/2 and La Dolce Vita. Gaspar Noe's Irreversible.
