How to deal with 21 year old granddaughter who won’t accept responsibility for her child.
Granddaughter lives with her mother and sister with her 2 year old. Has job doesn’t take any type of responsibility of taking care of child. She sleeps eats and does absolutely nothing to help or take care of child family members do it. Wants to move out with boyfriend who is on drugs and wants to take child with her. He is aggressive to child when disciplining him. He is married and has lied about it to everyone. Expects her to pay his way also. She gives him money. Her mother wants her to move out but to leave child with her to assure he will be taken care of.
Ver sad for the toddler. Her mother should talk to a lawyer and get advice on how to approach the daughter so they can get this done legally. Otherwise, the little one will be jerked around mercilessly between homes as well as subjected to abuse. If the boyfriend is on drugs the daughter probably is also, and the police may want to know more about the situation. Their work could be helpful in securing a safe place for the little one.
