    Hi Pamela!
This is a very important and well written article about the issue of codependency and dysfunctional characteristics in families and relationships. I liked the way you have clearly mentioned the symptoms and solutions to this behavioural disorder. Agree with you that this has to be identified in childhood only, and treated accordingly.
Thank you for sharing and a happy day to you.

I think this is a very important and helpful article. Codependency and dysfunctional conditions within a family must be confronted and sought for professional help. Although when family members come to know about the sufferer, they can talk and resolve to some extent, but it's always better to consult a professional advisor. Thank you, Pamela, for contributing a wonderfully written and informative article to help us all. You are most appreciated.

Thanks, Chitrangada, for sharing Pamela's post.

Thank you for posting my article, Chitrangada. Codependency is so common, and I wanted to make a list of characteristics so if someone is striggling, maybe they could begin to change and heal. I appreciate all of your commenta.

Rosina,  Codependency should be confronted, but it isn't always, then you have an adult with more serious isses that needs that professional help. I agree with you that a professonal advisor is the best way to get help. I'm glad you found this article to be informative. Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments.

I hope both of you ladies have a blessed week.

    Pamela..
    Great article.
It's easy to become codependent on those you love.
Somehow you believe you are helping them when actually you are hurting yourself in the end.

You are right...most families don't talk about it.
Fear of speaking out really does exist as more and more children learn to just be quiet.

This writing explains that it can exist with a variety of different loopholes.

    Nice article.

It can be easy to fall into codependency, yet so much depends on how you were raised I think. You are hurting them and yourself really. Fear of speaking out is a problem for sure. Most people do not want to speak up for themselves, which is sad really. I appreciate all of your thoughtful comments, Brenda.

Pamela has created an informative and very useful article. The lists from Mental Health America are especially interesting. The items in the lists are thought provoking and important to consider.

This is a helpful article on Codependency and Dysfunctional Family Characteristics. I believe it is pretty challenging to identify the symptoms and be understanding with such people. Pamela's article gives an in-depth analysis of the signs and possible next steps. Thanks for this valuable information
