Try the 'romanesca'. My son brought it home to introduce to us...it looks really strange, but has a beautiful color that holds well when cooked. Tastes kind like a cross between broccoli and culiflower.

Cacao fruit.  Its beans has soft, white and sweet pulp.  The beans are the ones used to make cocoa powder.

The most exotic fruit I've eaten is prickly pear cactus which I didn't like because of the dense seeds. The most exotic vegetables would be celeriac and kohlrabi. Celeriac resembles a large celery root, and kohlrabi's texture and taste is like the stem of brocoli.

Wow, all of those sound so interesting, where would you buy any of those? I don't think I have even seen them anywhere in regular grocery stores?

      Hi Margarita,
Dragon fruit and cacao are tropical. Prickly pear is grown in hot, dry areas. Romanesca, kohlrabi, and celeriac can be grown from seeds in Oregon. All, except cacao, may be available at a market w/ a gourmet produce section too. smile
