What is one (just one, but any one) favorite food that brings back the feelings of home to you?
My mother was a wonderful, wonderful cook, and my sister is following in her footsteps and expandng their repertoire. One of my mother's dishes I remember with relish is her macaroni, tomato, hamburger and onions dish we called "American Chop Suey." Any season at all, it was filling and delicious. Best of all, she knew we loved it and made it quite often. Ketchup was not needed.
Home made biscuits... With lots of butter after they came out of the oven ... Yummy
Boeuf Bourguignon. My mom would do her best to cook this for my birthday. God bless her heart.
The delicious and lavishing cheese dish that is quite different to make.
I call it liquid cheese dish.
A Coney Island Knish is my answer for a favorite food of the old days.
Hard to decide. My mom always would cook our favorite for our birthday. That is not my choice right now. It is what my dad called Wendell Burgers made on the grill. He had his secret recipe not ever letting anyone see his how he spiced the hamburgers. And, the B-B-que sauce we knew the main ingredients, but never did I learn what that extra pizzazz was.
Baked chicken with mashed potatoes (with lumps!) tons of gravy and green beans!
Macaroni cheese and freshly fried fish. Also enjoyed her trifle at Christmas or other special occasions.

What is your favorite food?A particular favorite of mine is Cheese on Toast. I love cheese at anytime, but melted over a good piece of bread, slightly burned by the grill cheese on toast has to be one of the best foods...
