Thanks, 21, Soni, and Maita! I thorougly enjoyed the contest, but it did wear me out - cooking, writing, researching, and taking pics. I think I gained 10 pounds, too. lol

I'm using my winnings to buy a washer for one daughter and a dryer for another. Theirs died, and they can't afford to replace them. Needless to say, they're elated that I won!

OK, back in front of a computer, although I must say posting via my phone wasn't as hard as I thought it would be yesterday.

So habee's extremely thorough and fascinating treatise on Gullah/Geechee Creole cuisine was the judges' pick among the 4 stellar selections over the last four weeks. Congratulations again, habee!

I do want to reiterate that not only those who won, or even those that were nominated, were excellent-quality Hubs. We read through so many fantastic Hub entries, all of which we hope will delight readers for years to come. As exhausting as the marathon-Hubbing month of June was, we hope you earn long-term rewards, in terms of ad revenue, traffic, and comments, to all of your Hubbalicious Hubs.

    Izzy and Chareen, thanks, guys!

Peggy, I think your hub is awesome! I've read it several times. I'm sure it was a close call for the judges - probably why it took so long to announce the results!

Congratulations to all the winners, nominees, random drawings and also every person who entered. While I didn't win anything the result of having competed in the contest is that I have more hubs than I did before the competition started.

A belated update: John Birdsall, one of the contest judges, posted this on the highly-trafficked SFoodie blog.

HubPages' Food Writing Contest Has a Winner!

Simone and I are brainstorming ideas for the September contest, coming in just 6 weeks or so...should be fun! tongue

      Congrats Habee!

Jason and Staff - how about a hubchallenge with some solid revenue potential!

Do the keyword research for us in each daily topic ...now that would be cool!

Lol, I wish I had 30 spare niches a month. I didnt say it would be easy!

But if I had access to HP's share of sitewide analytics, I could probably pull it off in a half hour.

I am really with you on this, start a contest with some revenue potential.  Yesterday after I read about the special programs on the HP blog and I mailed simone smith to make the 60 day challenge official and I think you should head it.  What say?

I understand but I really feel Hp should start something like the 60 day challenge where equal focus is given on promoting hubs.  May be they can use your tutorial hubs, they are awesome(esp the one on driving traffic and amazon).  Also, your advice on how to target amazon product did wonders.  I am loving amazon now(more than adsense) as I see sales everyday.   Take a visual look at my transformation:

My amazon performance from Jan 1 to May 31

My Amazon performance from June 1 to July 14

Infact the total amount this month has already exceeded the last month.  It really is making me happy.

Thanks a ton SF, it is only because of you.
