i always hear how there is one person out there for everyone. i have to question that and say how do you know you have found the one like the really right one out of billions of people.

You have a lot of choices - there are a lot of 'right ones' out there. It's all about how you make your relationship work together. Otherwise, it would be a macabre lottery in which only a few in a billion would be happy smile

May be that's how it stands and only a few in a billion are really happy together. For others it's just having sex without money exchanged - convenience and habit, habit and convenience. And don't forget about the children...

Absolutely not!  Any man and any woman can make a marriage happy and prosperous IF both are willing to work toward the success of it.  That endeavor alone qualifies that person as the "right" one.  If one endlessly seeks "the one" you'll find live quite dismal and unhappy.  It's the journey that we learn from. smile

Do I have to work in a marriage too? No, thanks. I have enough work outside it!

If you are lazy NOTHING will be successful.

When you see them for the first time, for a brief moment time will slow down, you will get tunnel vision, and your eyes will meet.  At the moment your eyes meet time will stop, and you will know they are the one.

So 'the one' is the one who slipped something into your drink?

I don't get it, is this what happened to you when somebody slipped something into your drink last time?

Tunnel vision, distorted perceptions of reality... eh, nevermind...

Sorry, never had anything slipped into my drink.  But if it's the same as finding "the one" people would probably want something slipped into their drink all the time.

Julie - I may get into the doghouse for this, but what you do to find the "one" or, as he is sometimes called, the "won") you go to the White House in Washington, DC, and ask for the president. Piece of cake, right?

it's life and all is a gamble, and sometimes it really sucks. Sometimes it is thrilling like a roller coaster, but with every high is the low to follow. It's what you do  with it all that counts in the end. Best of luck to you anyway.

I've always believed that if you could round up the next 20 single girls/guys that walk by you, depending on if your a gal or guy, that you can find "the one" from that bunch.

It's interesting that when people say there is only one single person for them in the whole world, 99% of the time that "one" happens to live within 50 miles of you!

Point being you just like whoever seems to share your interest and you work on it from there until you think they are "the one". wink

Well it is either Neo, The Highlander or Y`shua.
In the end, there can be only one. big_smile
In my case, a hookah bar with some great rice pudding, game of backgammon and some old school St George Rulebreaker eye candy.

Yes, and you know this is the one when he will do what you want without hesitation (and you also feel strangely like doing what he/she wants, without hesitation!)

which, um, could lead to some problems for awhile until you both learn to want the same things.   Bliss.
