Using multiple article directories vs just one like ezine to create

    backlinks.
I have been using Ezine to get backlinks to a website and now I am wanting to start creating back links to my Hubs as well. I'm wondering if it creates more "link juice" to say create 2 back links via ezine and 2 back links via another article directory like Buzzle.com rather than just 4 articles through ezine.
I don't know whether it matters in Googles view whether the back links come from just one site or two (disregarding any PR difference the different article sites may have.

The more links you can create from quality article sites the better.  However, the better the site, the harder work you have to put into submitting quality content articles with insertion of your hublinks.  These quality sites have a good reputation to keep for the benefit of Google love and, as such, you have to act by submitting good quality content to those sites.  You have a good reputation to keep too so dont blow it by spammy behaviour or you will be penalised.

My approach is to have one article on Ezine with the bio box pointing at the Hubpage. I then take other articles and submit them to a variety of other directories. In those articles I have the bio box pointing to the Ezine article.

Take the url of each article and use pingler dot com to ping each article and then submit the individual article url's to rss feed aggregators.

Using this tactic will give your Ezine article a blast and subsequent huge authority link from Ezine to your Hubpage.

Its always good to mix this up as you never want to leave a footprint by doing the same thing time after time.

    Hi Shaz,
I didn't mean writing just two articles and submitting them to 2 different directories. I meant write 4 articles and submit 2 to ezine and 2 to buzzle. I'm wondering whether it's better to have back links coming from a variety of sites rather than just the one.

Yes, that's good promotional practice. big_smile a few people write articles here there n yonder carrying their HP link and is good since that article may get picked up by other sites.

'One site one vote!'  Whether that's true or not I don't know, but I've heard it banded around and it makes sense to me.  So I always try to get back-links from as may different sources as possible.

        Speaking of...

Didn't I see you at the info mine? I think I remember an author named "V" lol

Have you tried it out? Do you like it?

It's on my list, although I only use half of them if I want to go all out, and the Info Mine is (currently) nearer the bottom of the list.

I'm liking 'Worldvillage.com' at the moment, it's a little bit spammy and I don't put as much effort into my 'villages' as I do hubs and articles elsewhere, but you can have up to 5 outgoing links, and (like hubs) they do rank fairly well for low competition keywords.

Tipsbase.com is handy for some extra cheeky back-links too (a sentence or two and you're good to go). smile

Thanks for the idea about tipbase and I see that you are active there.  It also seems very easy to use.
Are you getting many links back to your hubs?

My Pleasure.  I wouldn't expect to get much through traffic or earn much via Adsense at Tipsbase (unless perhaps you wrote full hub length tips), as with a sentence or two we're not really giving the search engines anything to get their teeth into.  But the links are good and the pages may rank for more obscure keywords.

Like you said, it's very easy to use, and it's well worth a few lines of text for the back-link alone.

                Thanks for that.

It's a shame re the traffic and adsense earnings because I really enjoy using this site and have posted a couple already.  I'll do a few more because, as you say, its just a sentence or two and see what happens.

      No problem.

However, to any other hubbers who follow behind us and sign up, please try to use the site in the spirit it is intended (it is not a bookmarking site).

At least one hubber has followed you two, and offered no value in the form of tips what-so-ever, but merely used it to promote themselves.   TipsBase is so easy to use, and asks for so little in return, that gaming it just feels wrong to me, and could ultimately end up getting all hubbers banned.

Please don't make me regret sharing with the HP community.

You want backlinks coming from a variety of sites, more specifically from a variety of IP addresses.

You want to mirror your backlinking the way search engines see links on a day to day basis. They see links from everywhere going to all kinds of sites.

But your ranking links are going to come from relevant sites with good PR.

Diversify your backlinking: article directories, social bookmarking sites, blog directories, website directories, forums, hubpages, squidoo, weebly, etc.

You want to make it look as natural as possible.

The one exception the rule, I've heard, is that Google doesn't mind people backlinking to more than one Blogger.com site. I think it's because Blogger is Google's property...?

But be careful that you don't link to a site that or IP address that had spam problems in the past.

What everyone else has said. YOu don't want links from just one article directory but many.

Just take care you choose a directory that is do-follow and is strong enough for your article to remain indexed.

I looked at Articles Base the other day, and their submission guidelines stated that all their links were no-follow. (I confirmed this by viewing the source code). Not sure why anyone submits to them to be honest - perhaps people are simply unaware.
