Just wondering if anyone knows exactly when the statistics for hub views are supposed to start over for a new day.
It is almost ten o'clock at night eastern time when I am, and I just noticed that the views I had a few hours ago are considerably different.
Thanks for asking. I had been trying to figure it out for months myself!
I don't know what you mean.
Clarify, please?
It's always a 24 hr period counting backwards from now. An hour from now it will be an hour different than it was before. It doesn't follow a calendar day or midnight to midnight type schedule.
Okay, thanks.
Maybe I've led a sheltered life, but this kind of counting is something new to me.
Do you know if the views for the last seven days are counted the same way...I mean to they change as the others do, or are they calculated at a particular time each week?
This is interesting, as my Adsense earnings, although not quite the same thing, seem to cut off based on a US time, much the same kind of time daily as far as I can tell, i.e. some weird time when I am asleep but well into the early hours of the morning UK time.
Based on my normal viewings of hub statistics, I have always worked on the assumption that as the overall viewings seem to potentially drop at any second I check them, the likelihood is that as each hub was published at a certain hour on a certain day, (each one unique), the duration each hub had been published was also unique, and this would cause fluctuations in the viewings for the last 24 hours overall depending on what minute etc I checked my stats. (I hope this makes some kind of sense).
All the stats on HubPages work under the same rolling time period. Google Adsense does seem to have a daily-cutoff, although I have no idea what timeframe it operates under.
KarinaKate, rolling timeframes are fairly common with reporting statistical data. We use it for all types of reporting where I work.
AdSense runs on US Pacific time (where Google corporate HQ is based), with a day being midnight to midnight.
You should be using Google Analytics to track your page impressions. Don't rely too heavily on HP's tracking, it hasn't been completely accurate since I've been a member here.
I've been here 6 weeks and it wasn't until a couple of days ago it dawned on me how the daily stats were working, when I noticed my hub views for the day decrease. Then it made more sense. It would be good if the stats wouldn't show a count for the times I view or edit my own hubs.
I rely more on google analytics.
I just got back to this thread.
The other comments are interesting.
I guess I'll have to take a look at Google Analytics.

It would be really helpful to see what the monetary value of each hub is per day or week or month (preferably per day or month) as an additional column on the main statistics page. For example, a Hub that was published years ago may have many views, but since they were acquired over a long time the...
