Link Capsule Problems

It's been a while since I've had the problems, but they're back. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't really used the link capsule since my last series, or what...

Basically, I add the links, delete the descriptions for each link, arrange the links in alphabetical order, and save the capsule.

    Publish the hub.

    Check the links.

    They're out of order.

    This happens nearly every time.

Have you tried inserting them in alphabetical order instead?

I had exactly the same thing happen to me yesterday.

You shouldn't have to worry about inserting them in alphabetical order because the capsule allows resorting - so there's definitely some kind of hiccup.

LarasMama, like Marisa said, it shouldn't matter, as you can resort them, and yes, I have tried, and they moved around a little.

Marisa, I've been having the problem for some time. Every time I add a link to my series, I have to double check that it saved right.

I'm still having trouble with the link capsule rearranging itself.

I went back today and added one link to about 7 hubs or so that I forgot to add a link to, and after saving the hubs, the capsule rearranged. These hubs are not new hubs. They were published during the last contest, about 2 months ago in March during the health contest.

The capsules seemed to rearrange one link every time, and it was almost always the same link.

I think started on a hub that I opened during the contest but never really worked on. I added the links and it rearranged itself just like the others did, moving just the same link to the bottom, when I placed it in the middle of the list.

I just wanted to bump this, as for the past several days, every time I create a link capsule, organize the links, publish the hub, the links are all mis-organized. Every time I add or alter a link capsule, I have to organize and rearrange the links twice. Once before publishing or saving the hub, and then a second time after.

    Hi Whitney05,

Could you post a link to one of your hubs where this problem occurred?  Also, how many links did you have when the problem occurred?

I'll see if I can reproduce it.

    Thanks,

    -Larry

Anywhere from 3 to 15 or more links.

I just had to reset the links on the newest hub that I published. I arranged them, published the hub, they rearranged, i re-arranged them, resaved the hub, and all was well.

Next time I will print screen a shot of the before when first arranged, and what happens after. I've been meaning to do it, but keep forgetting.

I’ve never gone near the link capsule.

    I just copy/paste the link(s) into a text capsule. They’ve never moved…

Does the link capsule do something awesome that I need to know about?

      Hi ParadigmSearch,

The link capsule is an easy way to display a list of links.  You specify the url and a description is generated for you which you can edit.

It is really meant as a convenient way for the author to organize a a group of links.

I found a fix for this link capsule issue you reported.  The fix will go out with the next update to the site.  I'll post on this thread when the fix is out.

Thanks very much for your help in finding this bug.

Thank you! I had the issue again today. I was fine with one capsule with 3 links, but rearranged a capsule of 3 links in another hub. Can't wait for the new fix, as just a few links isn't bad, but sometimes I add several links, and that's a pain.

    Hi Whitney05,

The fix just went out just now.  Please let me know if you find any more problems.
