I have 12 hubs and I am on hubpages for 2 months with a hubsocre of 96. I get approximately 70 visits a day according to hubpages but 50 according to adsense. I have made $10.84 so far and my clicks average 0.30 cents per click. Am I doin well for a beginner on hubpages?

ya but google takes time to list and rank..the experienced people out here would guide you as well as me..just two months ago hub took interview of an hubber..it took him around 8 months to get first cheque while in next month he had another..so with time it does start earning and visits too increase...it is latter first than former...

Well for me to get listed I just get some backlinks and all of my hubs are keyword optimized for long keywords. Not on the first page for many though lol.
About 3/4 of my traffic is from search engines and I have realized that my older hubs seem to get the most of it.

I would say getting 0.3 per click is great.  I have also been getting about the same income or around 10 dollar in total. Of course I would like to get more, much more.

I guess that I am being impatient,   almost to the point where I am going in few times a day in to Adsense accoung and hoping for some big news. But I stopped my self from doing so, basically because it makes no sense to check your adsense account more than 1 a day.

You sound like me on some days, lol! I checked your account and you were only here for two weeks and earned just as much as me, i must be doing pretty poorly then!

I'd say you're definitely doing better than most. Your topics are well chosen.

It may seem like peanuts so far, which admittedly it is, but it looks to me like you're headed in the right direction. Keep and eye on the 'knowledge exchange', 'need help', and 'extreme hub makeover' forums to slowly learn more about tips and techniques for success without being overwhelmed, but yes, you're on the right track.

Good topics, but a competitive one. Maybe you can find yourself an undeveloped niche within it.

Well i am on the first page of yahoo and bing just not google, the big daddy!
I tried using longer keyphrases but I think the ones i chose have too many stop words. Is that really a problem?

I don't know. It's not something I've heard much about, so I guess not. In truth I'd forgotten all about stop words since the subject never comes up. I don't see how you could avoid them very easily and still produce natural-sounding content.

I have to reckon not. Someone... Irohner I think, pointed me in the direction of an article yesterday that spoke about how Google's spiders are more ... intuitive than they used to be. Like it isn't all just keywords, but general topic of your page.

Doesn't mean we can leave those keywords out, but i'd guess it means stop words in keyword phrases can't be an issue to worry about.

But then, don't mistake me for someone who knows SEO very well. I was merely commenting on your earnings and CTR in comparison to what other hubbers have leaked.

You are doing better than me. I joined last night and my score has gone down five points.

Sounds to me like you are doing very well.

I have only been blogging a week and on HubPages for three days. I would appreciate any positive or negative feedback as this is something I wish to pursue. I am taking a lot in very fast and am finding it a little frustrating. I only have Google active in my associate setting, everything else still says set. Should these changes take time and how long will these adds be running for free?

You can also activate google analytics to monitor the behavior of visitors on your site.
Where there are from, how long do they stay etc
