I'm serious. If you didn't grow up in the south, you have no idea how dangerous the Tea Party is. If they keep gaining strength and take over this country, like the Religious Right almost did during the Reagan years, we are in real trouble. Be warned. They will try to revert us back to "the values this country was founded on" by taking away everything we've gained after that. Hell, if they had their way, they'd reinstitute slavery, but it would be for everyone that wasn't white, not just blacks.

I'm happy some of the old timers in the Congress are gone, but we now have a bunch of freshman reps with no power or influence, and the Dems will become "The Party of NO!" in order to survive.

Unfortunately, Obama is not Clinton. I don't think he can work with these people like Clinton did with his Republican congress. He's way too arrogant, and not politically savvy or manipulative enough.

John Boehner won't be the only one crying if the Tea Party gets its way, believe me.

      OMG! Do you hear yourself?

Like that would be such a bad thing? LOL

Then don't stop there throw in the fear mongering, and play the racist card!

What have we "gained" under the democrats? Crushing debt, reliance on government handouts, crippling unemployment? You can't see that the democrats are enslaving you? Enslaving us all by forcing us into reliance on government and taking our wealth to pay for it!

The Tea Party is here to save you not enslave you and believe me, when we're successful, you'll be thanking us!

Be fair. This mess was left to Obama by the Bush administration--two wars and tax cuts for the rich and famous.

OMG!!! When will you foolish liberals step up and take responsibility for your actions and the results (or lack thereof) of what you do?

Oh that's right, liberals don't believe in personal responsibility!

So do you take responsibility for the economy and wars under Dubya?  Wars usually help our economy.  What happened under Bush?  Where did the money go and who made the most profit from Dubya's wars?  Any idea?  Let's hear your thoughts.

Yes, I do have a clue about your historical knowledge!  Perhaps you will tell us what caused the end of the Great Depression.  The sudden increase of jobs and industrial activity in which women began working outside of the home was caused by what?

Maybe you should read up on it again... the economy was hardly all that great. FDR had double digit unemployment throughout all of his 4 terms! This in spite of having so many young men fighting overseas. In addition there were all sorts of shortages... remember the 43 penney wasmade out of steel because of the shortage of copper.

I suppose though you and democrats would characterise such an economy as "great" though I can't imagine why, but it explains why you think the current situation is good *sighs*

Where did I say "the economy is good"?  And you didn't answer the question of "what ended the Great Depression?"  So you don't think more jobs and industry caused by the war ended the GD?  So let's hear your spin on it!

You are batshit crazy if you think the Tea Party has any intention of saving us. It's all about money! The lunatic fringe will soon be discarded by the GOP and the real agenda will become clear, which is to return to the greed and corruption that got us into this mess.

Actually, most of the commentators on Fox aren't right-wing enough on several issues...

And they're waaay TOO "fair and balanced" lotsa times when they give ear to leftists.
But hey they treat everyone with respect, unlike CNN and Rachel Maddow and the non-ladies of The View, etc., so I guess I can't fault them for actually being nice to people in general.

How can you expect anyone to take anything you say seriously when you say crap like this?

What a foolish, divisive, ridiculous and unsubstantiated lie.  This is the crap that is ruining the nation.  Not the Democrats or the Republicans.  It's grotesque perversions of what "debate" and "conversations" are supposed to be that prevent the nation from righting itself.

SO just keep slinging this garbage and the idiots on the other side will keep calling Obama a communist and comparing him to Hitler and the whole country will just keep circling the drain.

Lady, you are funny.  I am a hispanic who is a tea partier and a southerner, and I have never had the feeling I would be enslaved.  You can't color every conservative with the same paint brush.  You are not being fair.  Are there racist conservatives?  Sure, but that would be true of both sides.

You said and I quote, "They will try to revert us back to "the values this country was founded on."  So,  in other words, you are not for the Constitution.  Sorry, but that is not an option in the United States.  To be elected to office, you have to swear to uphold the Constitution.   If you want a socialist constitution, go to another country.

A two party system is set up to fail. Whatever one is in power the other one fights it. Whatever changes one makes, the other changes back once they are in power.

It's a stupid, win-less system that just goes in circles. Having said that, I don't know of any other system in place that is much better.

Maybe it's humans that are the problem,,,,

If you deny that all this happened under the Bush administration, you are denying the truth. Bank deregulation, letting Wall Street run wild, two wars...one needless and one that has gone on too long that is unwinnable, and who got rich? Tell me, was it you? Did you get rich under their policies?  I think not. Only the rich got richer during Dubya's reign of terror and fear.

While Obama is not my favorite president by far, he was set up to fail by a system who wanted to show us that a black man could not be a successful President, and get that notion over and done with.

You obviously have drunk the Kool Aid and are totally blind to the real agenda here. I can tell you, it's much scarier than you think. If you had heard what I heard from the Radical Right during the 2008 election, you would know I am right. I'm talking really powerful people using the "N" word and talking about "putting these people in their place once and for all" by electing Obama and setting him up to fail.

It's not conspiracy theories, it's the truth. I'm not "playing" the race card, the race card has already been played. Put the "N" into the White House and watch him fail...then no one will ever elect another black President.

It's all so covert and evil, you would not believe it unless you saw it.

Who are those "really powerful people"?

          And let's not forgte this:

"In December 2008, Paladino forwarded a message entitled “Obama Inauguration Rehearsal” including a video clip showing African tribesmen dancing in a village. This video is very popular in the white supremacist community and has been posted at the Neo-Nazi Stormfront website."

"A financial deregulation bill was passed in the early 1980s under the Reagan administration, lifting many restrictions on the activities of savings and loan associations, which had previously been limited primarily to the home-loan market. The result was an orgy of speculation, profiteering and outright plundering of assets, culminating in collapse and the biggest financial bailout in US history, costing the federal government more than $500 billion."

          The beginning of the end.

And don't forget, Graham- Leach -Bliley, 3 staunch Republicans, wrote that bill that Clinton signed! It was part of a "deal" they made to "work together" in Congress. Work with dogs, you get fleas.

What have you all been saying lo these past 2 years?

Stands to reason, you would fault a Republican Congress just as well, doesn't it?
