What are the best and worst (funniest) sick day excuses you have ever heard or used? Excuses to get out of a work meeting or reasons why you are late back from lunch,
    I'll start...

"I'll be sick tomorrow, I can feel it coming on"

"It looks like I just inherited three million dollars from a long lost relative in Nigeria. I gotta go to the bank and get a bank transfer"

"I can't come in, my chakras are misaligned."

"I was upset because my favorite "American Idol" contestant was voted off."

This isn't an excuse but i know someone that called in sick to work but was spotted smiling at the TV camera in the crowd at a Snooker final that was live on TV. The patrons at the pub he worked in found it very amusing, however his boss that was covering for him, well, not so much.

A few years ago, two women who live near to me did not show up for work.  The next day, they told the boss that they had set out for work the day before, and were walking together down an alley, when they were abducted by aliens.  This was reported on the local news.  I don't think they were believed for some reason.

an excuse I was given when I was the (new!) manager on duty:

"I can't come in at all today, I have to spend the day with my cat since she just pulled out a claw."

I dunno, something just didn't sound right about that one....
