Milestones are fun...gallstones, not so much...

   My profile changed from 11 months to 12, sometime this morning...I guess that means I've officially put in a year...
   Next big milestone will be in real life, getting rid of this annoying and painful gall bladder.

   never had that kind of surgery , but I gotta have a hernia surgery that i been puttin off ferever, hope yours goes well and isn't too awful painful

   I've had bother on and off with gallstones for years. Last time I read online that apple cider vinegar was good for it.
   
   So I went to the local supermarket and bought a bottle, and faithfully drank some in a glass filled up with water twice a day.
   Within a week the pain had gone (but then that's also about the length of time an attack lasts anyway).
   
   Have read since then that the apple cider vinegar is supposed to be the rough and raw kind, not the distilled stuff you buy for cooking!

      Battling heredity here, and a long line of relatives who've had to have them removed.

   Google gall bladder cleanse. Most are simple- 6 oz olive oil,  6 oz Coke, juice of 1/2 lemon, or juice of 1 grapefruit and 6 oz olive oil.  You usually drink it in the afternoon.  No pain, but you will pass a myriad of soft green gall stones of varying sizes.  No one should ever have gall bladder surgery (general consensus of most alternative medicine providers and advocates).  If the clease doesn't do the trick, it's probably not your gall bladder.

      I didn't have any stones, but my gallbladder was dead. It was functioning at 1%. I feel sooooo much better since it was removed!

         I'm really happy for you habee.  And I don't doubt your gall bladder was on strike. 
         
         I feel sooooo much better since I fired all the MDs and started seeing my naturopath/homeopath/herbalist and chiro.

            If we had a homeopath around here, I'd def give him/her a try!! I go to a chiro to be put on "the rack" (decompression), and that really helps. Heck of a lot better than back/neck surgery!

         My brother-in-law's gall bladder was discovered as "dead" about a year ago.  I'd never heard of that until it happened to him.   Needless to say - emergency surgery.  He's fine now.      He went from seeming OK to being rid of the gall bladder within about a day.

            My Mom's first attack resulted in emergency surgery, and she was told she had a lot of damage...no forewarning.  Her grandmother died from a ruptured g/b.

   I've had two C-sections, a gall bladder removal and a hysterectomy.  All a piece of cake.  You'll feel so much better after all of them!  LOL   
   
   I was supposed to have the laproscopic gall bladder removal but once they made the 4 little incisions they found out they couldn't really reach everything properly.  So, I got the big gash too. 
   
   The cleanse rmcrayne is talking about would sure be worth a try. What could it hurt?  Rmcrayne?  It this particular cleanse beneficial in any way if you've already had your gall bladder removed?

      Thanks KCC.  I always say, if there's a possible treatment that's not expensive, and may not help, but there's absolutely no reason it should hurt, why not give it a go?! 
      
      Interesting question.  One of my alternative med specialists recommended I do the cleanse several consecutive months to purge the "gall" related to anger (related to the ex- getting 25% of my military retirement just for breathing).

         I understand the retirement situation.  I gave up my house in order for my ex not to be able to touch my retirement, but I stipulated that I get to remain in the house until our children graduated from high school.  My daughter graduates in 6 months.  Sure, I have to find somewhere else to live, but I have all of my retirement.  (The house was built on land we got from his parents....I felt he should have the house anyways).

   I didn't have any gall stones either, but the wall of my gall bladder was about 1/4 inch thick when it should have been paper thin.  I felt like I had the flu and finally went to immediate care when it became difficult to breathe - they almost did emergency surgery!  Instead, I was given some heavy duty medication that made me absolutely loopy for Easter Morning - and was scheduled for surgery within 6 weeks.
   
   Can't say whether or not it made me feel better...cuz I only had the one attack and the pain was gone when the loopiness left.  Anyway...
