Amazon Payout Today

   Hip Hip Hooray. I received an Amazon payout that I never expected. I thought you needed a hundred dollars just like Adsense. I logged into my bank account that I only use for my direct deposits. Lo and behold, there was a $10.94 deposit from Amazon!
   I guess that means that I am a professional writer as of today.

      Congratulations Pente! And thank you for posting this - I had thought the minimum payout was $100 but checked my account and realized I could go ahead and sign up for direct deposit for what I have earned!

   Here in the UK, I can only get my Amazon payout by cheque (check) but have noticed this month that it has not been despatched yet. It is usually sent by the third or fourth last working day of the month.
   
   I was getting worried but your information has put my mind to rest to some extent that payout is near!

   You must have rubbed a little luck my way.  I just checked my amazon account and I have 5 items sold!  There is no monetary value shown yet and they are not yet shipped so I know it's not money in the hand yet but I'm so excited!  This is the first time for me.

   Woo-hoo! Just had the email in from Amazon to say they have despatched my first cheque.
   
   Probably get it in about a week, then it'll be another 28 days for the stupid banks here to process it...then I'll have...
   
   $1269.22!! Minus bank fees of course

            Congratulation Izzy & Pente. I also expecting my biggest payout from Amazon . It takes 2 weeks to get the check, and another 5 week for processing here.
            
            I also hope this this update won't last long.

            You should get your cheque in about four working days.
            
            When you go to your bank, ask them to send it for negotiation, NOT collection. They should be OK about doing this with Amazon being such a big company. This means that you'll get the cleared funds in about three days.

               Thanks for that Gordon, but remember I'm in Spain now and they really do send the mail by donkey express:(
               
               Mail gets flown into the nearest airport 20 miles away and takes another week to get here because the donkey can't go very fast, the poor thing!
               
               I'm not sure that the banks do negotiation either. I asked before about the cheapest way to cash an dollar cheque and they never mentioned anything about it.
               
               I know in the UK banks clear foreign cheques quickly but not here.

                  It's probably not an option for you as the European banking system is decadent beyond belief. I can't believe sometimes some of the stories my Dad tells me about his bank in Germany.

                  Can't you get your Google revenue paid direct to your bank account? Have you changed your Google settings to stipulate your earnings in Euros instead of US Dollars?
                  
                  I may be wrong but I think that's possible in most countries now. Go to Google Adsense/My Account/Account Settings and try to change your Payment Details to Electronic Funds Transfer. This means that your revenue is paid direct to your bank every month.

                     I changed the setting for Google to pay direct into my bank account, and they say its all set, but that I have to do a 'test' transaction or payment first.
                     
                     I haven't a clue what they are talking about. My banking isn't online either (bank doesn't do it, or something)

                        I have online banking but I think simply checking the transaction details with your bank would suffice. It will save you a lot of problems in the long term, I promise you!
                        
                        Like I say, I can't remember how long it takes to set up but it is more than worth it. You just sit back and let the money be credited!

                        They just pay a very tiny amount into your bank account, and then you have to enter that into your adsense account info when you see it on your bank statement.

                           Still not understanding it though. You say they would put a tiny amount into my bank? Have I got to tell them to do that? Other problem is I don't understand Spanish bank statements - never have, they are completely different to UK bank statements and I've more or less given up looking at them.
                           
                           As it was several months ago that I filled in the bank details, they might have sent it to me long ago and I wouldn't have known.
                           
                           I looked at that link, Gordon. Looks like I might have to go find all my bank statements and go through them all? I can't even remember when I filled in those details, but when they mentioned verifying payments I stopped. (and ignored it ever since).

                              Well, it might have been quite some time ago then. I think that they do it when you set up the bank details, after you enter that pin no, if I am remembering correctly. You don't have to ask them. Actually, I forgot all about it and only verfied mine recently - it was on a past statement, I had read it at the time but not entered it onto my account. Crazily I could remember it. Spanish bank accounts sound a bit weird, can you go into the bank and ask them to look it up on computer?

    I recieved a cheque today for $2128.
    
    Clearly I am going to get rinsed by the taxman, and a bank charge of about $15, and of course bank exchange rates are crap, BUT..... I am pleased nonetheless.
    
    I am going to pay off bills early, I get my annual water rates bill in advance and that just came. My share of 6 months of Council Tax, and then it will be largely gone.
    
    But if my income is going to be falling significantly then it makes sense to cut my monthly costs until I can drag my earnings back up through diversification.
    
    I should get another one for $1100 in a couple of months, that can go in my pension (if I can afford to put it in there).
    
    Sadly that will probably be my last for at least 6 months with a $1000 payment threshold!
    
    Takes a bit of pressure off though.

       Congratulations Ryan! I expect to pay €15 to cash it, but I worked out before that if I can get my earnings up to $2,500 a month (as if!!) I would be better off opening a dollar account. That first cheque was a long time coming, but I'm a third of the way towards the next so you never know...maybe one day.
