Hello, I am somewhat new to this site and I was wondering if you'd do me the favor of taking a look at my first hub? It's about the Gypsy/Romani culture and I'd appreciate any feedback you may have about it. Thanks in advance!

I personally enjoyed it. Loved the topic too! Welcome to Hubpages!
You did a very nice job on this, excellent first hub. If I were to give any advice, I'd say it could even be expanded on a little, as it is pretty short (coming in at 467 words). An introductory paragraph to explain who the Romani are in a general sense, making the connection to "gypsy" as it is most commonly understood (misunderstood), would ground the reader in familiar turf from the outset, and writing one would add to the word count, which will help you get found by search engines too. (I know you use the term "gypsy" in the title, but that sometimes gets forgotten as people begin to read.) But, even without that, it works, so, good woork. Welcome to HP.
Great work! The only thing that I would add is something that I was told early on: move the photo down to the second text capsule, so that the Google ad is displayed on top. This might increase the number of ad clicks.
It is a great hub - welcome to Hubpages and keep writing great articles!
Good work; I agree with the rest on the amount of content,, an article ideally should not be less than 600 to 800 words.
agree about the pic not being at the top but excellent first hub .. we need more of this quality and less of the spammy crap .. well done :-)
I would just like to thank everyone for their support and advice. I am planning on adding more information to the hub as I do more research. It has recently come to my attention that there is a group of Romani camping locally and I hope to get to speak with them so I can find out more about their beautiful and colorful culture. Hopefully, they will allow me to take some actual photos of them as well. Since the Romani are very secretive, however, I fear that my hopes may not become a reality. I hope you will all wish me luck in this endeavor.
As for where the photo is located, I'm not here to make money. I am simply here to write, but thank you for the advice. I will certainly take it into account if I ever choose to sign up for Google AdSense.

Does anyone have solid tips on the best way to optimize the summaries? Mine have all been automatically created (only because I didn't know there was the option to create one), and they look like they're essentially the first paragraph of the Hub.Is it better to have, say, a one-line summary...

I keep posting hubs without writing the summaries. Bad summaries can set your hub back for weeks (or ever if you don't notice). They are almost as important as the title. Some kind of warning- like 'before you publish this hub please check the summary box' would help.

Hello all!Just thought I would say hello to the community as a new Hubber. I apparently registered four years ago, but I published my first hub last night! I've always found writing very cathartic, I figured I may as well publish my ramblings somewhere.I would appreciate any tips & tricks to...
