KARL ROVE: Donald Trump Is Discrediting The Entire Republican Party
    Steven Loeb | Mar. 31, 2011, 9:57 AM | 6,265 | comment 32

Rove TrumpDonald Trump appeared on the O'Reilly Factor last night and proceeded to reiterate, yet again, how he doesn't think that Obama was born in the United States and that he is not showing his birth certificate because it might show that he is a Muslim and on and on.

It was all of the same stuff he has been saying over and over and over and over and over for the past two weeks.

Thankfully, Trump's point of view was not shared by the rest of O'Reilly's guests or even by O'Reilly himself.

During their interview, O'Reilly expressed disbelief that Trump was actually a birther at all, and O'Reilly's next guest, Karl Rove, also tried to distance himself and the rest of the Republican party from Trump's newfound birtherism.

"The right wing base of the Republican party, I'm part of that right wing base, is not in love with the issue of birthers. I mean, there is an element inside the Republican party, and outside the Republican party, that's fallen in love with this but the majority of Republicans and the vast majority of Americans accept is he a U.S. citizen capable of being president."

You know it's sad. There are and have been many great Republican leaders, but the GOP has let too many of the "nut fringe" in under the tent and, in doing so, has effectively put itself on self-destruct mode.

The real power in the GOP has to realize that the Tea Partiers and the Neo-Libertarians are nothing more than a polictical "fad."

And of course the Democrats don't have ANY cartoon characters under their tent at all, right?

Sure they do. This was Karl Rove's words paraphased - not mine. I have listened to him in interviews bemoan the fact that the nut fringe are effectively destroying the GOP.
You guys bowed down to the Tea Party to get the numbers up. There may be a price to pay therein.

Karl Rove is a has been. The rank and file members of the Republican party don't give a rat's rear end what Rove has to say.

If Hussein Odumba hasn't discredited the democrat party, then Donald Trump can't discredit the Republican party.

The Odumba's eligibility problem is not going away, liberals deal with it.

Good luck in 2012 - in fact, please feel free to spread more disinformation around - it only strengthens your opposition.

Obama.. one of the many sobriquets you will find on here. I was driving on the highway a couple of days ago and saw a guy driving a white van. He had a magnetic sign on the back of his vehicle that said, 'Hussein Obama - America hating piece of shit" - and that is no exageration. Of course when I passed him he had a couple of American flag stickers on his windshield and a Tea Party sticker on his door.
Welcome to our little slice of paradise John...lol

It reminds me of my father! When I was in my early teens if my older sister brought any boyfriends home with her my father would always ridicule their names, not blatantly but subtly.
I remember thinking at the time how incredibly childish he was.

    This is news?

A discredited person is attempting to discredit an entire political party?

How does this even qualify as news worthy?

Donald Trump isn't credible. Neither is either political party in America.

So what Donald Trump has to say, is meaningless. lol

I saw the guy who used to have a dead rat on his head talking to the small minded O'Reilly. Two intellectual pygmies meet.

If the GOP run with this rich moron and Pailin America will become a world laughing stock.

If the US is a laughing stock it is the likes of you with your narrow insular world view who help to make it so.
Your firm belief that nobody outside the US can have a view on your affairs show's a total lack of imagination and your insistence on insulting everybody who disagrees with you demonstrates your insufferable arrogance.

Right you know it all! John You do the same as I do and just give it back to you. Only your opinion counts and you twist most everything. I personally do not care what you say. first you say one person then I tell you canary wharf and you say WELL EVERYONE THERE IS BANKERS ETC... so we went from not many to you saying oh just canary wharf people, who are real business people think to the right. seems strange to me John how everyone or community I bring up seems to be right thinking. what ever.

No, I don't know it all but I'm pretty good at recognising flannel when it's waved in my face.
It doesn't seem at all strange to me that you only bring up people that support your strange ideas, even when sometimes you miss and bring up youtube clips that do the opposite.

Kudos to Mitt Romney for cutting off the birther discussion.
He has stated he believes Obama is American and that's that.
    Let's talk about the issues!
    Wow. What a concept!!!
Of course, he'll soon be in the crosshairs of the right wing fringe himself.
Perhaps we should take bets on what, besides being a Mormon and implementing a healthcare plan in MA they'll level at Romney. roll
