on the hub pages addsense program,..... what is CPM?

    i note that i seem to have amassed a huge sum of 25 cents or less through this new program,.. not that i ever thought i would get rich here,... but just above that # is listed "CPM" and that seems to be something large enough to pay an allbeit small bar tab,.... what are CPM's?

    CPM is cost per mille ("thousand" in latin"). I think it estimates how much money you would earn per 1000 views.

    CPM means Cost Per Mille (1000), as against CPC in AdSense which means Cost Per Click, that is the money an advertiser pays when someone clicks on your ad.

    The CPM is an average based on how much you've earned for a certain number of views.

    So if you earned $5 from 50 views,  your cpm would be $100:

    1000/50*$5

    If, on the other hand, you earned 10c for 50 views you'd only have a CPM of $2.

    CPM is just a rough estimate - it can vary widely based on things like click rate, how much different advertisers pay etc.

    It's not your actual pay rate but what you could theoretically get if your averages stayed the same.
