Is anyone familiar with how RedGage actually works?  I'm unclear about whether I can post entire hubs, or just links there.  Also, if I'm posting my entire hub, will HP then deem it copied content?  Any info on social bookmarking sites in general would be helpful.

Hit "upload," and then hit "link," from there it will be pretty self explanatory to you.

That site is forever full of glitches, but if and when you successfully upload a link - it is a "dofollow" backlink that should help you in search engines.

I use it, usually, but only upload links - I prefer shetoldme, but there you are required to do a little writing, but I'm long winded; and un bothered by such things.

I don't worry or think much about earnings on redgage, and it shows; I do know people who've lost adsense accounts that absolutely love that place though.

Never, ever post entire Hubs anywhere, please!

I think the best way to use Redgage is to post links to your Hubs.  I've never found it to be useful, though.

Marisa, that's sort of what I thought...lol  I've only posted links.  Seems like to post entire hubs would lead to issues about duplicate content and such.

        Thanks for chiming in! smile

There is no "seems" to it.  HP will unpublish the hub as a duplicate if you post a copy of it anywhere.

You've done well not to copy your hubs to redgage or any other site.

Thanks, wilderness.  It had me scared, so I just stayed away from it! lol  It also made sense!

Edit:  Stayed away from posting hubs, not links.

Marissa, I'm surprised you haven't found Redgage useful. I have a few hubs that the links at Redgage come up before my Hubpage does on Google. Because of that I show a lot of traffic coming from there.

I'm new there and so far just posted links to my hubs.  It does help my traffic here though and I can use any help I can get.

So far, that's what I'm seeing too (and I'm not complaining...lol).  I've not earned much, but I'll take any traffic I can get for now.

        smile  Good luck!

I love Redgage and use it on every article that I write... it's simpler to write a brief explanation and it redirects traffic well for me...  Forget money over there... I've probably earned 17$ for my 27,000 views ; however, a lot of those views got redirected to Hubs and other sites that I write for.

    In summary; use it.

Thanks, Wesman and brandon - the info from you both is quite helpful.  I may take another look later.  I signed up but was a little confused about what to do next, and frankly, the site doesn't give a lot of great direction (from what I saw, anyway).

    Thanks again, guys!

Apparently there are a couple redgage threads that are currently active here.

I just wanted to add something that can be relevant.

Although the site has a history of glitches, its performance has improved considerably.

I use Firefox and occasionally something does not work correctly but these situations are becoming less frequent.

There are two reasons that I use redgage.

First, I have found that when a user uploads a link, a page is created which includes the link, description, etc. This page will many times appear in top search engine results for the title, often overnight.

I rarely if ever see this happen with any other social bookmarking site.

The ability of these "link pages" to appear in search results can generate considerable traffic to a url.

A second benefit is the networking that occurs among members. Redgage is a great way to share and find niche information, promote websites, blogs, artwork, etc.

The site has a worldwide audience and the atmosphere is very friendly.

I am glad I stuck it out, despite problems in the early days.

My overall experience is that this is not a "quickie" resource for backlinking. It can have tremendous benefits for some users, but you must be willing to invest the time.

Hey, AWESOME!  Thus the reason why we should all branch out some from time to time.

I've belonged for two years and have never managed to import my blogs.  And now I've been reading the Redgage threads here I think maybe I should just use it for linking back to my hubs.

It's just very slow on my PC too.

Thanks, daybreak, sofs, and earner.  I'm having a bit of trouble getting set up there, but if I can clear that hurdle, I think it might be worth the time.

    I appreciate everyone's input.

I tried Redgage but never succeeded in importing any blogs. I put in several links and now, one year later, have earned the grand total of $0.16!

Hmm, Write.  Doesn't sound so great...lol  Well, I just put in a handful of links and will let them roll around there for a while.  I'll see how it goes for a little while.  If it's not worth it, I'll let it die a slow, painful death and move on.  Thanks for the info!  smile

Motown putting links there won't earn you anything,.. write a informative blog..and put links to your hubs in it.... those will get you some views..
Photos work well.. try posting your own there..
Redgage is  is fun and you earn too smile
