The conflict in the Middle East is a religious war and unless people in this religion suddenly adopt a secular society or different faith, I don't see US involvement as good investment of resources and lives, what do you think?

The conflict in the Middle East is an oil and gas grab, only contested by religious and not secular mindset, this latter all bought off. Then there is the theft of Palestine justified by
    religious my-god.

I am in full agreement with Knolyourself. The visual and printed media daily give us the wrong interpolation about everything. Unless you meet someone from that area or have knowledge of the area don't beleive not a thing said by the media They are bought and paid for by corporate America. We debate your question but who is making mind altering profits, the oil companies. There is zero focus on this issue.

I think the media coverage is certainly biased.  When innocent parties get killed on either side the terminology used to describe the aggressor is very different and I think misleading.  That is why I read news from various places before I make any conclusion.  Since there is no actual face-to-face interaction between regular people from the US and the Middle East people base their opinion on what they are told and what is reported which I think is unhealthy.

Got turned onto this video by by Glenn Greenwald this morning. It has some very foul language so am posting the google search page as opposed to the actual video, so people can choose to watch or not, even if this does not run afoul of whatever. It is the first one: YouTube - George Carlin ~ The American Dream

I love the video. I checked it out. George Carlyton is hysterical. I randomly ended up seeing this forum? I guess that what this is. Im new on here.

I wanted to add my two cents about the fact that we are so far in debt as a country. That's all anyone wants to talk about these days. Yet we are still spending rediculous amounts of money on a war for something that we dont even need (oil). All that money could be used to put up hydrogen pumps all over or something.

Not even to mention all the failing construction in this country that needs to be maintained. We can't afford anything like that as a country because we have no money. This is not to mention the failing school systems these days. George Carlton had a point there. We are getting screwed each and everyday and we just live out our mysterable lifes as if we live in a tyrant run system (blanking on the word for that haha) and can't do anything about it.

I'm not really that into politics and all this but these are the things I think about when I drive around everywhere and see unfinished road work all over jamming everything up.

We are so strong as a country I believe and people dont realize what we can do as individuals. We just wait for other people to do everything for us. Some day I hope I can make a difference for the better somehow. Somehow stand up for the average everyday hard working person. Wish me luck!
