What can you do about getting Hacked

   I was recently hacked from facebook by a person pretending that she wanted to join hubpages.
   I sent her some emails from my eail account not thru facebook.
   I GOT HACKED.
   
   Is there anyway I can make sure that they haven't cahged any of y affiliate settings on HUbpages..and Google  & Amazon.

      What do you mean "you got hacked"?
      
      The best defense is being smart, many of the technics used are pure social engineering so you must be careful accessing dubious websites or giving personal data throw email, another good tip is not to open unknown files that may contain malicious code.
      
      If you use windows, make sure it is up to date and always use anti virus and anti spyware software.

         someone keeps hacking my email account... They acted like they wanted me to eail them some info about hubpages and a program called eroads@ yahoo hacked into my email - I lost 3k contacts plus they might have my Hubpages LOG IN IDK, is there a way that I can let hubpages & google know I have been hacked?
         Can they even steal your refferrall URL from Hubpages?
         Is that possible

   Have you changed your HP password since this happened?  And your security questions?
   
   As far as HP is concerned, e-mail them at team@hubpages.com to ask the questions in your post.
   
   If I were in your place, I would send my questions from a different e-mail account (other than the hacked one), since your original one has been compromised, and ask the team what steps you should take.

   Most facebook hacks are the result of phishing or fake url's.  My gf got burned by one a while back.
   
   
   I had my gmail hacked 6months ago simply because the password wasn't strong enough.  You might want to look into something like LastPass.  I have dozens of accounts now, and each has 16 or so characters of completely random letters, numbers and whatever else is allowed.
   
   I don't actually know any of my passwords, but LP does.  To access it, though, someone would have to steal my home computer, and then hack my master access password.

   Just last weekend someone told me that his Facebook account had been hacked.  Yours (manthy) was the first I had ever heard of it - and then this friend IRL.  He told me that now he only signs in to Facebook securely.  He said that in the address bar, he just adds "s" to the "http" (to become "https," of course).  The disadvantage, though, is that he can't participate in some things like various games and apps.  But, in case you want to try it, there it is.

   People say they when you sign into facebook and get the password wrong and enter the password in and get it right without refreshing the page leads to vulnerability of a hack attack.Some people in this kind of situation may have done this...some people did something else...either way i hope this advice helped somebody

   You have to go your FB account, look around in Privacy Settings. There is a place to protect your account and block people or app, which you do not want.
